Thanks Ze22 and Dunhill,

Yes my husband is in US and he will be filling the i-130 petition either by today or tomorrow.

I am trying to more and more learn about the whole process, I think I have grasped the USCIS part but NVC part is still unclear to me, but hopefully I will learn it by the time we get to that.

Ze22, I do realise that you have sent your original certificates, just wondering how safe is it to send the originals? I am more thinking about notarising it by any of the public notary officer.

Hi Silent,

You are now early in the game. Since you folks are filinf for I130 with USCIS, certified copies should be good enough.

After your I130 is approved, you papers get transferred to NVC and NVC assigns case # and rest of the stuff. Its only when you file DS-230, you may need to submit original documents.

I submitted Original Birth and Marriage certificates with a notarized PCC ...... My case was completed on 18th Jan but I don't know why they are taking soooooo long to allot an interview at chennai... I called NVC today and they told that I am not in the March list :crying: :crying: :crying: I can't understand the logic when you apply for a non immigrant visa you get an interview within 10 days... and when your immigrant visa case is complete still you have to wait for 2 months..... :protest:

I'm just waiting waiting and waiting..... God please :help:

06th Jun 07 - Cheque Cashed

24th Aug 07 - Finally received NOA1

Hopefully they schedule yours soon! Again, usually consulates schedule interviews by priority dates....hmmm hang in there.

Dunhill it is on 1st April .... :jest: now stop laughing..... I nearly fell off my chair when I heard that... My hubby told me to call again and confirm. Once I get packet 4 then I will go for medical.

when we send the civil documents to NVC along with DS230, should we sent the birth certificate and divorce decree of both benificiary and US citizen?

What does pack 3 contain and what does pack 4 contain... can you please specify for CR1 case.... then I also would be able to clear my doubts if Any

Packet 3 contains the following:

1) Applicants Statement - From Packet 3 PDF Docs Checklist (link to pdf

2) DS-230 Part 1

3) 2inchx2inch Photos

4) Copy of Passport (bio/parent pages).

Can i ask you what process you are pursuing? Is it the CR-1? If so, things have moved really fast for you andthat is great. If true, would love to get pointers from you.
