Hey everyone,

We mailed off our AOS packet (with EAD and AP) the other day, but after reading some posts on here I am beginning to think we should have sent 4 or 6 passport photos. May I ask where people are getting this information? My wife and I sent 2 photos attached to the G325A as detailed on the visajourney AOS guide. Nothing that I have seen on the actual AOS, EAD or AP forms even mentions photos. I am going to be really frustrated if we get an RFE a we really tried our best to be totally thorough.

If someone could redirect me to where it asks for 4 or 6 photos that would be fantastic!

thanks,

You may be OK. I've never figured out what they use them for anyway.

They use the digital pictures from biometrics for the cards.

From the I-765 instructions:

Required Documentation

All applications must be filed with the documents required below, in addition to the particular evidence required for the category listed in "Who May File This Form I-765" with fee, if required.

If you are required to show economic necessity for your category, submit a list of your assets, income and expenses.

Please assemble the documents in the following order:

1. Your application with the filing fee. See "What Is the Filing Fee" for details.

2. If you are mailing your application to USCIS, you must also submit:

A. A copy of Form I-94 Departure Record (front and back), if available. If you are filing an I-765 under the© (9) category, an I-94 record need not submitted.

B. A copy of your last EAD (front and back). If no prior EAD has been issued, you must submit a copy of a federal government issued identity document, such as a passport showing your picture, name, and date of birth; a birth certificate with photo ID; a visa issued by a foreign consulate; or a National ID document with photo and/or fingerprint. The identity document photocopy must clearly show the facial features of the applicant and the biographical information.

C. You must submit two identical color photographs of yourself taken within 30 days of the filing of this application. The photos must have a white to off-white background, be printed on thin paper with a glossy finish, and be unmounted and unretouched.

The passport-style photos must be 2" x 2." The photos must be in color with full face, frontal view on a white to off-white background. Head height should measure 1" to 1 3/8" from top of hair to bottom of chin, and eye height is between 1 1/8" to 1 3/8" from bottom of photo. Your head must be bare unless you are wearing a headdress as required by a religious order of which you are a member. Using pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and Alien Receipt Number on the back of the photo.

From the I-131 instructions:

General Instructions:

A. If you are outside the United States and filing for a refugee travel document, or if you are in the United States and filing for advance parole document:

You must submit two identical color photographs of yourself taken within 30 days of the filing of this application.

NOTE: Because of the current USCIS scanning process, if a digital photo is submitted, it needs to be produced from a high resolution camera, which has at least a 3.5 mega pixel.

We only sent 2 (or 4 photos...pretty sure it was only 2). I worried that we hadn't sent enough, but it was never an issue. I don't even know why they ask for them, my husband had to take new photos for his green card and EAD. Actually now that I think about it the photo that we sent with AOS is on his AP documents.

Don't worry. If you get an RFE for this, it will be quick and easy to send the photos. : )

Same with us. I was worried because I only sent two photos total, with the AOS and EAD application. No one complained about it and we got the approval of both fine!:thumbs:

I too was worried about the photos and almost had a meltdown when I discovered that I neglected to send photos for the EAD. Thankfully, we received the I-551 stamp approval without RFE. I've heard the same thing about the photos; they use the photo taken during biometrics.
