Waiting for EAD

We need someones advice and wisdom on this subject. My husband has a K3 visa and filed for his EAD in early June. Biometrics in Aug and have heard nothing since. We got senatorial assistance and got a letter back saying that it is still within the timelines infact, it said we still have upto 30 to 60 days left. Is this right? We are going nuts waiting...can someone enlighten us on how long this usually takes?

oh yeah, before his biometrics appointment we recieved a letter saying his case was transferred to california.

This is one of the big reasons to avoid the K-3, the CR-1 visa does not have the EAD and AOS head aches.

EAD can take up to 90 days to get, so sounds like it is time to schedule an info pass appointment and ask an officer at your field office what the hold up is.

I don't think 5 months is still within the normal processing timeframe! Have you checked if your case has been touched after your senator's office made the inquiry? I filed in June and asked for assistance from my congressman in late Oct. The letter he sent stated that accdg. USCIS, the application was still under review and to wait 30-45 days! My case got touched the day after I received the letter and was approved 20 days after. As per YuandDan, you may have to do an infopass to find out what's causing the delay and for an immigration officer address the problem.
