AOS package- I-765, Should I submit a copy of my I-485?

Hello, I am filling my AOS and I just would like to know if I should submit a copy of my I-485 with my I-765 package as proof of submission or is this not necessary? I would rather be save than sorry... Any input?

If you are submitting the I-765 together with your I-485, then there is no need to attach a copy as they will all go to the same office, the NBC. Just be sure to send both forms (and their required evidence) to the Chicago Lockbox.

Not sure if you just got mixed up with the numbers...it's easy to do!!

The I-485 is the main form needed to change your status and therefore is the key document in your AOS package.

The I-765 is the paperwork you fill out to apply for a work authorization or more commonly known as the EAD.

Or have you filed for AOS already and are now filing for an EAD separately? In this case, I'm not 100% sure of the correct answer as I filed for both together.

The only time you would need to submit a copy of the I-485 with the I-765 is if you are applying for EAD separately or at a later time. But since it will all be in the same package, you dont need to submit a copy
