:help:Hi VJ friends! I have this tons of questions regarding this 3 important cards in US and very confused because I am planning to travel this December and I dont have any idea of waiting period for the card processing.

Upon the approval of my AOS I received CRIS E-mail stating that "CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED" just after 2 and a half hours after my interview. But after checking the timelines of VJ members I saw different types of Emails regarding I-485 approvals. Welcome to USA letters comes first, I-485 sent approvals comes next in few days and card production came to last Email before receiving the card. But on my case, Is it normal that I have received first the " card production ordered " before those welcome Emails ??? and it is almost a week passed there's no update emails regarding this like those??? Can you please give me THE step by step details of I-485 approvals on CRIS emails and total numbers of days onreceiving card in the mail???

Secondly, I have this question about SSN. Immedietly after the AOS interview, I went to SSA to apply for my SSN, so then...I am just confused again of How many days does SS card arrived in mail??? For those people who already received their SS card, can you please share us the number of days you've waited before receiving this???

Lastly,It is about the drivers license. What is the average days before you recieved the actual DL card in the mail after achieving your passed test at DMV??? Can you share us the procedures for attaining a DL card???

Sorry for this questions of mine??? But I am sure that there are people also who has the same questions regarding these cards. Hopefully you are kind enough to share your idea or experience and it would be appreciated.

Thankyou Very Much!!!

First of all, don't panic. You sound worried. Don't be. The order at which the AOS approval emails come in seems to vary, but people always end up getting their green card in the mail. It's hard to predict how long that will take, but it'll get there.

Concerning your SSN, getting the card in the mail after applying takes one to two weeks on average.

On the driver's license, it all depends on the state. In Pennsylvania, you get the card right away upon passing the test. No need to wait for it to come in the mail. You pass the test, wait in line for a bit, have your picture taken, and they make the card on the spot so you can leave with your driver's license in your hand.

Timeline:

2005-04-14: met online

2005-09-03: met in person

2007-02-26: filed for K-1

2007-03-19: K-1 approved

2007-06-11: K-1 in hand

2007-07-03: arrived in USA

2007-07-21: got married, yay!

2007-07-28: applied for green card

2008-02-19: conditional green card in hand

2010-01-05: applied for removal of conditions

2010-06-14: 10-year green card in hand

2013-11-19: applied for US citizenship

2014-02-10: became a US citizen

2014-02-22: applied for US passport

2014-03-14: received US passport

There isn't a rule of how many or how often updates are sent. Some people receive welcome letters, some don't. Some people receive card production ordered e-mails, some don't. Some receive the same email 3..4 times.. some don't. There is really no rule - so you have no reason to worry. The card should be on its way, it might take a few mmore days because of Thanksgiving.

2. My wife's social arrived pretty quickly. She applied on a monday and received the card the following tuesday. They run checks to make sure you are in the US legally and sometimes it takes longer for them to update their system - therefore it might take 3...4 weeks to receive your card.

3. My wife applied to renew her license right after we received the NOA1 - They gave her a piece of paper which was a temporary license and about 30 days later she received the actual license valid for 1 year. After receiving her green card, she went to the DMV and again, she was given the piece of paper but the license arrived the following week and it is good until 2014.

Miles, USCIS, SSA and the DMV don't all follow the same rules and same time frames - everyone here seems to receive their cards at different times and we haven't been able to figure out some sort of pattern, so the waiting game never really ends... But just wait and soon enough you will start getting these precious cards on the mail.

My husband's case status stated on 10-31-07 his card production was ordered. Then on 11-2-07 it stated his approval notice had been mailed. To date he has received neither. We are still waiting.
Thanks we_have_2day for your info.

So counting the days from "card production ordered" is 2 DAYS

Then if you count the days up today from receiving LUD of "I-485 approval notice "it is 19 days.

Total waiting period is 21 days up to the present. Right?

I think your card is on the way to your mailbox...anyway GOODLUCK!!! :)

Now I know. AOS approvals from CRIS emails doesnt show the same number of days or the step by step procedures on recieving card

I'm sure it will but if it is not, you know NOT to leave the US - unless you have a stamp on your passport.

My Interview was 8/06/07. I got two CARD PRODUCTION ORDER emails from CRIS, it was dated 8/06/07 and 8/08/07 (kind of weired isn't it?), and then an email saying that this Application was approved dated 8/09/07. On 8/12/07 i got the Welcome letter on the mail and on 8/16/07 (10 days after the Interview) got my GC on the mail.
