SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER QUESTION

Hello all,

i have a question on social security number. my wife came here on K-3 visa and we filed the AOS in the end of october 2007 and our interview for EAD is on 29th of November. My question here is When can she get the Social Security number. can we go now to apply?

can we get one after the approval of EAD?

or

do we have to wait till the completion of AOS process>

what about driving license?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Drivers license will vary by state. Check with County Tax Collector or the Drivers License office.

There is no interview for EAD..... are you sure its not an interview for your AOS ????

No interview for EAD the interview should be for Green-Card (AOS).

You should apply for SSN a few weeks after getting EAD or Green-Card.

There's no interview for EAD. I just checked your timeline, its your Biometrics appointment for EAD/AOS that you have on 29th of November.

Your wife will need to wait until either her EAD or AOS has been approved, which ever comes first.... before she can apply for an SSN.
