Hi ladies - I am finishing up our program for the wedding this weekend but I want to put some kind of clip art on the cover. We're both Muslim and our ceremony is civil/partly Muslim. I'd like something Islamic for the cover but am having trouble finding something I like. If any of you have good pictures, or nice Arabic caligraphy (allah, congratulations) something like that - it would be great if you could upload it on here for me! Thanks!

I usually find pics of calligraphy by googling an islamic phrase in the picture section

bismillahs

Allah

Islam Calligraphy

Muslim calligraphy

arabic calligraphy

Will the picture on the front be in color? I loooooooooove the 99 names of God by Art Hafez. I'm saving to get the set of 4 prints.

The Patient One

And be patient in adversity:

for, verily, God is with those who

are patient in adversity.

Al-Anfal 8:46, tr. Asad

If you are wholly perplexed and in straits,

have patience, for patience is the key to joy.

Rumi, Mathnawi I:2908, tr. Helminski

But, also just as a word of caution, when you print something that has the name of God on it, you have to be careful what will happen to it in the end. Will guests drop them on the ground or throw them away in the trash? You might want to add a note on the back requesting that if guests do not want to keep the program that they put it in a marked box on the way out.

If you don't mind, I'm going to borrow one of your quotes for my signature. I gave me tears.

Rahma very nice sites.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Of course I don't. The Qur'an and words of wisdom from great thinkers like Maulana Rumi are open and available for anyone to find solace in. During the immigration process, sabr is something I have to strive to attain.

In fact, the arabic in my signature is there to constantly remind me that I need to be humble and seek God's help in these trying times. In english, it says:

And seek assistance through patience and prayer, and most surely it is a hard thing except for the humble ones

I can't even begin to imagine the stress of being a mommy, going to school, working and planning your wedding! I'm sure it will turn out beautiful though.

Have your SO check these out and see if they do actually say just nikkah (aka wedding)

http://www.sakkal.com/Graphics/logos/nikah/sketches.html

That would eliminate the worry of people stepping on the name of Allah (swt) if they drop their programs.

He also has some nice clipart here

Now, if you really like this design, I've been pretty sucessful copying it in the past for posters and stuff. I could try to draw it, scan it and post if, if you'd like
