You ladies need to try a deep fried turkey! I know it sounds weird or greasy. But its not! And sooooooomuch better than regular turkey. I don't care for turkey either but the deep fried one....when seasoned correctly is laced with juices and spices all throughout. It is like nothing I have ever had. makes you want to get up in the middle of the night, sneak in the kitchen and have a midnight snack.

I am a Black Friday shopper. Its really not that bad when you go at the right time....Either early or late. You just have to know what you want. Don't go expecting to lollie-gag around the store. Get in and out. Go straight for what you want. Black Friday is really only good for appliances, electronics and maybe some expensive type clothing. The little stores will end up having better sales later.

Also Macys should be skipped on BF cause their best sale is ALWAYS the weekend after BF. I worked at Macys and I know how to work the sales and promotions there. Their door busters cannot be beat.

Can you tell I have my running shoes on?......Mama wants a new plasma!!

What time do you think I should start lining up for Circuit City?

My husband refuses to wait there with me, but he's agreed to drop me off lol...

Hey girl! My brother is a manager at CC! He started in the television dept and now my nephew and his girlfriend works there. I swear the fam is taking over the CC business. He told me people started lining up the Wednesday night before Thanks giving! He left CC at about 3am Thanksgiving morning and there were people coming to set up. Thats crazy! If you shop at CC always ask for the "open box" items. They are deeply discounted.

NVC will forward all that information to the Embassy. When we had our interview we were not asked for any of that, but it won't hurt to have copies with you just in case anything is misplaced. But please be aware that you will have a very hard time getting your originals back. We were told that we would get it back at the time of the interview, but the CO told us that she had to send the complete package for POE. She said we should get it back at POE, but we didn't get it back there either.

Hope that helps and good luck with everything.

Hey Girls.

I forgot to say Happy Thanksgiving to you all cause I booked out of work and never looked back on Wednesday. I hope it was nice for everyone.

Black Friday was a bear. We had people lined up from midnight till we opened at 5 a.m. All for a stupid free MP3 player. We had pushing and shoving and yelling and running around the store and all that foolishness. All in all, it was busy; but doable and we all survived. Then, I had to go brave the mall cause my husband and son decided to take the bus out and shop for bargains.

I'm almost glad to go back to work tomorrow so I can rest a bit.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Shauna.....that's great news.

I've been thinking about you. Mindy too. Hoping things are okay.

Also, if you see or hear from Kelly, tell her we are looking for her.

Please pray for VJ Members Milan & Mrs. Scott

Visa Approval for Mrs. Scott- Tuesday, November 13th

I returned to Jamaica six days later in hopes of returning to the US with my husband. I stayed in Jamaica until Friday, November 23rd. In order for the visa to be affixed, Kevin had to surrender his passport. We were told that he would receive the visa in 1-2 weeks. Perhaps I am being anxious, but I feel like it is taking too long. I know of others in Jamaica that have received a visa in as little as three days. Jamaica does not offer on-site visas. It must be sent via AirPak (courier).

Once the visa is printed, the National Visa Center (NVC) has the information in the system. On Friday, November 23rd, I called the NVC twice (AM & PM). The first representative said, "No, the visa has not been printed." During my second call, the rep asked, "Are you sure that your husband attended the interview? He has been listed as a No Show." I told her that's impossible. She said not to worry since we were approved. I need some insight from the VJ community. :help:

Visa Approval for Milan -Friday, November 16th

To date, her husband has not received the visa.

Mrs. Scott and Milan- some visas can take 3 days while others take up to 30 days to print. The Embassy has to wait for the fingerprint results through a national database. A few members on VJ had issues because the printer was down. You never know with Kingston especially during the holidays. Please be patient...it will soon come.

Congrats Nannygirl

Whew! I have been trying to catch up, 770 posts, wow! Been reading and reading, thru arguments, travails, trials and tribulations, and some good news too. Now, I think I would have given up by now, except I am trying to read about Rhonda's gathering of her paperwork, etc to lift conditions. Hmm, I am up to a week before she files...tired out! lol

Oh and thanks for mentioning you guys missed me. Made me happy. :)

My silly chickies really kept and keep me busy. No one would ever believe how much fun they can be or how much personality they have. You think of them boring and just pecking around in a farm setting, but I have had soooo much fun with the stupid lil critters. I had one lil one that followed me everywhere and cried if I wasnt within sight. She passed on, and I still miss the silly thing, and that was back in June. She was quite a character tho, and would burrow down in my shirt.

I keep them outside all day and bring them in at night, they sleep in a box. One got so cold the other day she actually cried, with a runny nose and everything! Poor lil girl, I felt so bad. She was whining and whimpering and hiccuping and sobbing, just like a little kid, if you can believe that. Its crazy. I guess its cuz they dont think they are chickens.

Anyhow, Rhonda...any advice, news, suggestions or anything you can give me regarding this would be great. If any of the vets are still around (and I HOPE they are), I am thinking we are all getting about to that stage, hmm? I, like Rhonda, dont really want to think about it, and am NOT in a paperwork mode, blecht! We are due to send the stuff in tho in about a week, so I HAVE to think about it.

Things are going well here, we get along great, but poor guy, he is depressed about this whole adjusting thing. Says its a load of ####### and he is homesick and is tired of all "the rules". Part of its the money, we are soooo in debt. Man, I dont know how we got so behind, been trying to pay off the credit cards but it is eating us alive. :( These new fees arent gonna help either. Eeeeks! I am not sure yet just how much it is now, but off to research a bit!

Love and hugs to all!

Jill
