:crying::crying: Our DNA test was not faviorable...how will i tell mi husbond

I know I am a bit tardy, but Den I am so sorry to hear. :(

The worse part is it affects our ability to file for her. Hubby's not really worried bout em not being hers....well yes he is....but most important thing is to get her here not sure if that can be done.

Hey Den, got some info for you. My mom and step-dad (now her ex) went through the same thing. He found out that my step-sister was not his biological child, so my mother was able to file for her as her step-parent. Based on her petition she only had to prove that she was married to my step-dad before the child turned 18. It was a few years ago, so I am not sure how subsequent changes may affect this, but you may want to look into it.

What form did they file...If you don't know could you chek....I bet they were not doing DNA test back then? Still I'm not sure I understand how it would work, was his name on the birth certificate?

We realy don't want to tell er, but she keeps asking  ....he dosen't want it to affect her schooling, don't want her to be made fun of...I guess they do that type of ting. Jus wondering weather to tell her or not.

Right now, I wouldn't tell her. There have been a number of articles that came out about the fact that fathers are finding out at an alarming rate that the children dem a mind fi such a long time, a nuh fi dem. She is certainly not the only one. Here is one from Gleaner: Jacket doesn't fit

WOW..that's just sad

She filed the I-130...yes, at the time that she was filed for, they did a DNA test and that is how they found out she was not his and they went the route of my mom filing for her. His name was not on her BC, but they were able to get the baptismal certs that had his listed as father.

Den I'm sorry I missed this before. My heart goes out to your family. I looked into some info on adoption (JA) some time ago; but unfortunatley I didn't get very far. I'd be interested to know what you find out. Again, my thoughts are with you guys at this time.

There's lots of info on children who are up for adoption....not alot on how to adopt one you thought was your own. Wonder if de mudder would put er up for adoption  hubby seh dat nah wuk.

I know. My stepfather just found out his son really isn't his. My stepfather took it really bad because he was in his 40's when he was born. He thought he could never have children...soooo sad.

HOT damn!!! Well, that's from I planned to file anyways. He name has been added to the BC all ready. I don't care it's worth a try. I filed for her at the time I filed for him initally but they said she couldn't come because his name wasn't on the BC in the 1st place. He has his name aded a few months ago. Then they wanted us to suppy other proof that he was the father. He couldn't find anything (school records, hosptial records, pictures). I'm wondering if they'll bring it up cause she's already in the system? Well worth the try...cause dis man is sick...all the promises he's made er. He dosen't want to break her heart.

I know that it's possible for the children in orphanages; but I was considering something similar to your situation.

Does the mother know what you know?

My stepbrother is only 14. His simple mother suggested the DNA when she found out my stepfather was marrying my mother. Mind you, they haven't been together in 10 years. My mother didn't want the DNA test done because she already knew the outcome..they look NOTHING alike. The mother told the son the results out of anger and embarrassment. My stepfather didn't want him to know the results yet.

Of course, we still treat him the same..

Nice to see you around :)

Thanks! I've been spending most of my time on VJ lately answering/sending PM's but I do miss everyone and hope everyone is doing well. I got so far behind in my reading I hope I didn't miss any good news  .

How are the mommies to be doing? Jax? Shauna? Ten?

slow and tired...

That's to be expected...hang in there. How was your move?

hard and sad....but it was the best thing for me and mike to do...he really needs to get a good head on his shoulders before the child comes into the world....i really think it is best...it was hard to leave a place i had started to build my life in but better days are ahead!

I know it wasn't easy, but I know you did what was best! If you need an ear you know I'm here.
