Jengles, wah REALLY a gwaan wid MrJengles and di passport??

Yuh nuh si dem have him dung a JA a guh mad?

The truth is I don't know what to do. I'm stuck. he wants to come back but since I didn't send him. i don't think i should have to pay his fare. he was supposed to sell the car and then he would have his fare to come back. put now the car can't sell, the engine serial number doesn't match what is on some paper and the previous owner doesn't have the reciept for the engineso the car will never be able to pass inspection. I know all that is not mr jengles fault. but I told him not to go to j.a. unless he spoke to the buyer, confirmed when money would change hands and all that. and do not go unless the title came. he didn't listen. I told him i wasn't going to pay for him to come back before he left here. his people lied to him,, there was no buyer.

so anyway now i'm stuck, he wants to come back, i want him to come back but i don't want to pay. just for the fact that he has to realize the value of MY dollar. As u guys now it was a rough couple of weeks, then i got locked out yesterday and i'm always late for work now and can't stay late and i'm an AVP and i just put Jenelle in daycare yesterday, so that is more money i will be spending and on my son's afterschool. if mr jengles were here. i wouldn't have to pay for afterschool for now until mr jengles got a job

Oh and yes, he had gotten his EAD before he went so i told him to stay and get a job, because of course he was stressing because with the car being out of commission, his kids weren't getting any money. he figured if he could sell the car then he could give them money to tide them over until he got a job up here.

he had good intentions

so now i'm stuck. i think he should be able to pay for at least half of his fare, yes??

oh and of course his fam isn't willing to help him but they sure encouraged him to go down.

Hey Jens I hope I don't offend you but you's a married woman and there's no such ting as your dollar....help yo man come home already! You seh it wasn't his fault. :innocent: Mek em wuk when he come back to put the money back in your guys account.

No you will not offend me, I'm not going to get offended by your honest opnion and i'm looking for a way to look at this from a different light. I've been helping out with this car since he's been up here and put it in front of my responsibilities and now I have to take care of my responsibilites. I've fixed the car after it got in the accident, insurance and when it needed repairs let's just say albatross. so that is where my money's been going not to where it was supposed to be going.

Yeah..I certainly undestand yourfustration but like JG seh, you don't have much choice, besides your going to have to spend the money anyway...with paying for child care and such.

JG,

no title not now not ever, engine serial number, doesn't match with what is on the old title. he says he might have to take it to a junkyard and see what he could get for it. i guess there was a problem down there with people stealing engines.

Chica, I knoa EXACTLY how you fell...rock and a hard place!

From last year Ken was to get his BLINKING drivers license...so I finally remembered to ask him about it in Early Feb. only tuh hear..."Baby Gurl, hit nah look like dat a guh run!" I WAS SOOOOO PISSED!!!! Because we had TALKED AND TALKED AND TALKED, plus I had sent down a likkle piece of $$ a while ago for him to add to getting it done! B/C in NY you CAN driver with an international driver's license til yuh git yuh green card! That would help me enormously!

So I went off...never had he heard me go off like this ! 1). because when EXACTLY was he going to tell me that he wasn't getting it? 2). I sent $$ for it & WHEN did HE decide that he shouldn't get it and NOT consult me? (I will tell you I have trust issues. If you tell me you are going to do something...THEN DO IT!!!)

So, with everthing else he had to pay for for the interview he wouldn't have enough $$ to do it before he came!

I REFUSED TO SEND DOWN ANY MORE $$ for the dyam ting!

Gurl, I sat there for a few days and just stewed and made him stew...until I realized who am I really hurting if he comes up here without it? RIGHT...ME!!!! So, I bought a 2 hour phone card and I talked to him about how this can seriously NEVER happen again. After my ex- I need to be able to trust you at your word...ray tay tay! I sent him half the $$ for it and told him to figure out the rest! (I needed to see how vested he was in my needs!) He got up the rest of the $$ and will have his license before he comes up (Of course not by next week  ) Now, I have to drive!!

So I say all this to say...Baby Gurl, if you think he has learned his lesson...give in and bring yuh man home! Yuh need him and he needs you...don't let a bad mistake ruin a wonderful marriage ( and a good man)!

Love ya,

Gill

Gill,

As God is my witness, if you weren't going to be in Jamaica next week i would pay your full fare to go to California with me to sit before a board of medical students to do a presentation. I love your FIERCE'NESS. But on the real, Ken should have gotten his license from long time. I don't know about him, but some Jamaican men are too laxed at times. Marcel been driving since he was 16, but I told him I'm not getting into a car with him in Jamaica if he doesn't have his license. So, when I went back in November, he had it. Because I told him, if he showed up at the airport with a car and no license I'm not getting in and I will jump into a taxi or call someone to come pick me up. I don't know about NY, but in MD you have to go through an entire 2 FRIGGIN weeks of driving school (in-class). Plus take a 3-hour drug class, then the road test. So, Gill you one ago afi drive all di way go a town? Cho man...mi dah afi bax im inna im head.

Browning,

I'm sure he knows how things run in Jamaica and there is a possibility that the land can me taken from him along with the house. How is going to build on something with no DEED...so many Jamaicans do that. Bout dem a CAPTURE land. That's how FLANKERS came about and look at it. If it's a desired area and the government wants it back, then what is he going to do? I know they do have government property out there, but they provide papers to the people. A few of my friends have gone through programs like that. mek im gwaan a learn the hard way. It took my cousin 3 years and over $4000/US in legal fees to get papers for her dad's land that was rightfully hers in the first place. This happens all the time in Trelawny. I don't know about elsewhere, but people CAPTURE land (we had it happen) to property my dad had and it took us years to get the man off. He built 3 houses on land and claimed he had papers that were fraudulent. The man never paid the property taxes. He just cleared property we had in Hanover and started building his houses. So, my dad tried to be nice and say pay me such and such and he REFUSED, so who don't hear it will feel it.

I get the whole its OUR money idea. However, when the man is not working and putting more strain on the finances then is to be expected, it's time to put your foot down and say you need to get your butt back here, get a job, and start helping out. And, the biggest......STOP all these stupid money making schemes.

I always say either buck up or shut up. I don't want to hear a bunch of excuses and schemes at any time. I want to hear your solutions to the issue(s) and how you are going to go about making it happen.

Sadly, you are going to have to buck up and pay him to get back here or none of nothing is going to happen.

I'd just say be careful with that. There have been stories in the JA papers lately of the government wanting "THEIR" land and fighting the people.....basically kicking them off the land, regardless of the time and energy they put into their houses and property.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

Gill,

Trust mi...if I can drive in Jamaica you can. Word of advice, try to avoid driving at night if you have to. Marcel always cuss when I drive, because I'm always cussing people out. I took me a while to get adjusted to driving at night in JAMAICA, because a lot of the DUMB A$$ drive with the highbeams on...EVEN in downtown. Most time he don't want me to overtake, but sometimes I do it to show him that I do know how to handle the road. Going through Ochi can get crazy. First time I drove to Kingston I went to other route, because I had to go the Westmoreland first. But I did okay, but GIRL...dem DAMN country side wid the hills. Woieeeeeeeee sah!

********************************************************************************

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
