Hi everyone...I just wanted to drop in and check on the Yardie Fam!! I have been away from this forum for a while, and was trying to catch up...but couldn't...SO, I'll just say hey to the new and old folx alike!! I hope everyone on the forum is doing well...I was just down in JA to spend some time with Gregory (even though I just left!!) because we were both going through a rough time, and just needed the physical comfort (not sexual) of one another. You know, as supportive and encouraging as you try to be for one another when you're apart, sometimes its the physical proximity that can make all the difference. The trip was definitely good for the both of us. It amazes me how we continue to grow and learn about each other every day. I was sitting and talking with one of my friends the other day about the evolution of our relationship, and the evolution of our individual selves from the day we met until now. We have both made vows and concerted efforts to continue to be the best people that we can be, not only for ourselves, but for each other. We both are dedicated to always trying to improve ourselves and grow within ourselves, as well as in our marriage. Our separation has been tough, and will continue to be tough, but in a way, we're doing a little better. I'm a firm believer that God has given us this time to really get ourselves together to be the united couple in His eyes that we need to be. I love my husband more and more each day, and I know he feels the same. Good luck to everyone in their journeys, and Happy Holidays to everyone!! What are ur plans for the Thanksgiving/Christmas/Kwanzaa/Hanukah/(whatever other celebration that you all might have) season?

One luv,

Tamisha

PS. How hard was it to get the name on your SS card changed? I'm dreading the whole "change your name on every document thing! "

WOW...You guys hit 700 pages and nearly lock down VJ :jest::jest:

Classy - sorry for all that you were going through last night. I certainly believe that you need sometime to yourself (tell him you need the space) to sort this out. As you can see there are differing opinions, but you already know in yourself what's best.

JaEnglish (with the baby who ah steal mi heart...Lawd him sweet ): Before we got married, Aaron never asked me for anything. When I moved back to JA in 99, things hit my family hard with my dad losing his job and my stepmother being diagnosed with cancer (she died a year before we got married). Aaron used to give me lunch money, pay for my school books, give me gas money for the car. When I moved back to the States, he used to send me money if I was short one month. When God blessed me with a better job, if he needed anything, I would never hesitate to give it to him. When they fell behind on the mortgage on his parent's home, I had a life insurance policy that my dad cashed in for me and I gave them all that money to get caught up. He has done so much for me, that I will never hesitate to do ANYTHING for him. I remember when I wasn't able to pay my tuition one year, he went and got a loan from NCB to pay for my last semester in school. I thank God that I got a man that I can work with and build our lives together. He just wants a job so that he can start supporting his family, he says everyday.

Belly's Girl: I wish you and hubby all the best. I know what you mean about just wanting to be in his physical presence. That's all I needed for the world to feel right. I pray that you will both be together soon.

Mr Jengles asked for one thing a portable dvd player because sometimes he was stuck in the Mo bay airport parking lot for hours. I bought it for him and he used it to play movies for the tourists on the bus ride to Ochi. He wanted a cellphone and sent me the money western union. that was it.

I would constantly ask him if he wanted anything and the answer was consisently no. No clothes believe me I tried. He could really care less about clothes. No money. I offered to bring his mother something from here and she asked a dress. He only heard her asking for the dress didn't know I offered and told her off. I buy nice stuff for holidays.

He has this mentality that the woman stays home and the man works. He is SLOOOOWLY getting into the team thing.

He is a gentleman.

My experience is very much like yours. I know that God worked a miracle for me.LOL

The sad part was I really really didn't want to go back to JA that trip even though the hotel was free, my friend had to drag me and she did because she couldn't use the free voucher without me. mr jengles had just started the job and was supposed to leave the airport earlier and he wasn't my so called "type",

Me too. Damien is a gentleman. He takes me out for "date night" every payday. And do me little things all the time...like run my bath water, make my lunch, buy me flowers, shoes and support my Carols Daughter comestics addiction :help:

Damien still won't let me do things for him...it drive me nuts sometimes. When he got his first job...he called one of his friends in JA to send him money for bus fare

1. Carol's Daughter ROCKS!!! For the umpteenth time I am trying to go natural and that is my excuse for a PANTRY of the stuff. Now they sell it directly across from my bus stop (Sephora)! :crying:

2. on the bus fare thing. Our men are something else. God bless 'em. I call it Cari-Pride. Let's consider it a good thing.

love carol's daughter they used to have this baby vaseline that was pink it smelled soooo goood!!!

Ha Ha this is too funny. Maybe I was on your husbands bus! I love this idea. I actually was on a local Shotta bus in the Ochi buspark waiting to go back to Mobay one Sunday and the DVD movie was the only thing that got me through waiting in that hot bus for over an hour. Lawd i thought I'd die at first. But then the drivah put this crazy voodoo movie in with Meghan Good and I was all good. I love that idea!

LOL. I get off the plane go on the bus and their's the dvd player, playing a stageshow and of course in true JA style he had it hooked up to the bus speakers.

And that, simply put, IS LOVE......

My husband always cusses me because I'll look at a photo and make my mind up, I saw REAL love in that photo of you and him, and I also saw your husband is a MAN....

I asked those people I did about love, because in my opinion, they have strong, productive, genuinely healthy relationships and I already knew the answer without being told or knowing much about their relationships....

Hey y'all

Thanks to Yardie for starting part #5.:thumbs: You sure are smart. :jest::jest::jest:

We sure can talk. In regards to the previously asked question (though not directed at me), Mike is a gentleman by all means. Yeah, I take him things and he accepts them and is very greatful, but he has never asked me for anything. I sent him money once and he was like, "What is this for?". I told him to do whatever he wanted to do with it. When I went ot Ja last month, he drew the money our of the bank and handed it to me. It brought tears to my eyes. I gave it back to him and we spent it together on ourselves. When I was leaving he went out and shopped for things for me to bring back home. I told him he did not have to do that and he said, "you bring things for me that I did not ask for, so why can't I give you something to bring back home?" I am paying his Visa fee because I want to. He does not know that I am. I told his father I wanted to and he told me it was okay with him. I plan to send whatever I can to help him with the expenses he will be incurring. I consider this a small investment for someone who I want to spend the rest of my life with. :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

That's beautiful...and in my mind indicative of a gentleman....

I just want to say  and congrats to all of you that have found that great man. I enjoy hearing everyones stories and giving/showing examples of what a real relationship is all about. I know mine is not the one. Yeah I knew it before but had a little break down, and was 2nd guessing my choice, all better now. Its sucks because I wanted it to work but when you know its not right its better to just move on. I'll just take some more time to work on myself and when I'm ready the right guy will come into my life. And as always big thanks to all of you for letting me vent and making me see things through someone elses eyes. I probably would've sat here depressed and teary eyed for way to long, thankfully it was only one night!

I struggle with the natural hair thing too. I almost made it to a year before I gave in to a texturizer...now I'm starting all over again. Carol's Daughter hair products don't do much for me. But I love Carol's Daughter shower gel, perfume, body souffle, love butter, lip butter, face wash and moisture, etc.

Oh! Carols Daughter is for your hair? U thought it was makeup. I need to look into that. Cause I am still trying to figure out the best way to wear my hair natural too. I usually leave in conditioner after I wash, but that ends up making my hair waaaayy to soft but I need some sort of product left in my hair after I wash it so that the curls form and stay without getting all frizzy. help!!!

Hey Tamisha,

Glad to hear you and your husband are doing good. I completely understand the whole physical proximity thing. The holidays are approaching and me and my husband are having the hardest times dealing with the fact that we wont be together on our first holiday season.

As far as the name change its pretty easy once you have your official marriage cert. I am still waiting for mine. The hardest part for me is the transitioning my name in my own head. I always forget to sign with my new last name and even after just starting a new job, somehow I forgot my new name and now my maiden name is on all my documents email and bus cards  So now I have to explain to people why my email siggie has a different name than the one they are used to calling me by. Its so hard for me cause people have always called me by my full name not just my first ever since I was in grade school. I have no idea why this is I think its just one of those names thats sounds good all together. So its a little akward for me to give up mu maiden name. I figure I have til hubby gets here to figure it out.
