My favorite dish has got to be Chicken Foot Soup *YUM*

I love anything SALTFISH! with ackee, with beans, in a fritter, just fried in oil and any other way you can eat it I told hubby when we get preggers that he better stock up cause I will be cravin like crazy

Then after the saltfish bring on the CURRY! Curry chicken, goat, beef, fish...anything you can curry.

The only thing I don't like of JA food is tripe and beans and chicken neck

YUCK...I HATE TRIPE!!!!!!! ... Love miself some Oxtail and butter beans though and STEW PEAS (with smoked turkey, instead of pig foot) YUM!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions! We are making our own cake this year and the hubby doesn't like can ackee I should get some just for myself though!

Let me just say I am paying 68% of my order price for shipping...that is SO not right!

There has got to be a better way to do this!

I just baked a 'test' cake, (baked here in the states before and it didn't come out anything like when I baked before), but this time came out perfectly!

Couple tips in case you need them!!

You can use Manischewitz concord wine to soak the fruits in instead of red label wine. If you haven't soaked them for months, you can boil them in the wine until soft for the cake.

Make sure to use non-stick baking tins, greased with butter or margarine.

Buy a small spray bottle (I actually got mine in Sally's a hair supply shop!). Either just put some wine in the spray bottle or a mix of rum and wine.

When you take the cake out, let it cool for 5 mins, then take it out of the baking tin and put it on a plate. Spray it LIBERALLY all over with the wine/wine and rum mix.

Then wrap the whole cake (and the plate underneath) in cling film for a few hours.

Disregard if you've baked black cake before!!

Good morning all;

I mailed off the IV fee bill and it was delivered to NVC and Mike's dad sent in the I-864 and USPS showed that it was delivered but After checking the system every night I never received any message that it was received nor entered into the system.

Last night I called again and received the following message. What does that mean? We never submitted any documents except the IV bill and AOS.

NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found info missing or incomplete. NVC mailed a letter on 11/29/2007 indicating what doc missing or incomplete. Please return the missing info to the NVC in and allow 6-8 weeks for review and you will be notified of the results?????

The Monkey & The Lizard

A monkey is sitting in a tree smoking a spliff when a lizard walks past, looks up and says to the monkey, "Wha gwaan?"

The monkey says, "Yu wan some?." So the lizard climbs up and sits next to the monkey and they burn the herb.

After a while the lizard says his mouth is 'dry'and that he's going to get a drink from the river. The lizard climbs down the tree, goes to the river and leans over to get his drink.

Well, the lizard is so high that he leans too far over, and falls into the river. A Crocodile sees this and swims over to the lizard, helping him to the side, then asks, "What's the matter with you?"

Hey Shauna! How is the pregnancy going? How are you doing?

it is acutally going not too bad....i am not getting morning/evening sickness too much anymore which is great!!! but i tend to be hungry like every 3 hours which is fun but not fun when i am not near any food....i go back again in december then i need to get another ultarsound so i hope i will soon find out what it is....my mom wants a girl because she has lace outfits on the brain...and everyone else wants a boy so he can be a football or basketball star....but other then then things are going ok....mike and i are going to be taking a break from each other...i think it is needed...and i need to get myself together and he needs to get himself together before this child comes into the world....

how are things with you?

I am doing ok. Living one day at a time. Glad to hear you aren't getting sick so much. That has got to be a relief. So your mom wants a girl and other people want a boy...what do you want? Got any names picked out yet? I have tons of names picked out already and I am not anywhere near preggers Sorry to hear that you are taking a break with Mike but I am sure it is for the best if you feel it is needed. If you don't mind my asking...do you think it will be a permanent or just temporary? It sure has to be hard and on top of it you are pregnant. Know that we are all here for ya and you have my email if you ever need to talk

no i don't want it to be permanent...i need a mental break from him...he really has been trying to be better....but on the other hand i don't want to be a mom to 2 kids....he has a LOT of growing up to do and he needs to make choices and decisions i feel on his own with out always asking me or wanting me to do it for him...i need him to be a adult and someone i can count on to help me with this child...at this point i don't feel that i could count on him....he has something that he knows he needs to work on and get started on so that i know he is serious about this and we will just go from there....

i want a baby that is healthy....a girl would be nice so would a boy....i don't really care just healthy....

i have my names picked out....for a girl Kayla Ann and for a boy Jordan Thomas.....

Kayla was the first name i thought of....just popped into my head and it has just stuck....and jordan my sister and i thought up that last weekend it just sounded like a strong name...so next month i will find out what name it will be......
