Wow, that dosen't sound good for us. Do you know if he'll have to go to some place special to have the DNA test done. Is there a certain DNA testing place the Embassy requires, or will they take any DNA test?

Mawning Chica,

Another VJ member told me that MoBay Hope can do the DNA test same time for $87.00. They will have the results by the Interview.

Gill

Why did I read that it had to be an embassy approved testing center? I need to find out.

Well, I know that MoBay Hope is Embassy approved for the medical exam. Again, Browns this is really second hand info from another VJ member that had filed a K1 & K2 , like myself.

I was going to call tomorrow (They are closed today - holiday- Ash Wednesday) to find out for sure!

Here is the Web Site link:

Gill

Thanks..It would be nice If I could submit any old test B)

Girl,

I hear ya! I am a little hesistant about finding out the results infront of the interviewer and on an already stressful day! But, I figured just get it out of the way! Tam-Tam's 1 in 3 article is still in my head... . For the first time ever...this is one time I HOPE AND PRAY MY INSTINCTS ARE WRONG!!! :crying:

Gill

Yeah I hope so to. It's not pretty...dealing with the aftermath.

Gill

:unsure::unsure:

I must have missed it or I am lost...what article and why do you hope your instincts are wrong? Now you got me all worried for you

A few weeks ago JA-Tam posted a Gleaner article that stated 33% of DNA tests in JA. came back as the father/child NOT being a match! I have had my fears about Ken's paternity of KJ for a while now. So, now that I was told by a VJ member that the Embassy did not accept a birth certificate issued only 2 months after the child's birth. I am thinking it would probably be best to do the DNA test when Ken & KJ got to MoBay Hope for their medical.

My only issue is if my instincts are correct we will find out that KJ is not Ken's son at the interview in front of the Interviewer and my Husband will be to put it mildly...DEVASTATED!! :crying::crying: And so will I!

So, I was just saying that I hope and PRAY that my instincts are off and all the tests come back positive...(well not all tests positive...the drug test negative)...whatever you know what I mean :lol:

Thanks for caring Chica...love yuh fuh dat! :luv:

I need some ideas on a Valentine present for my Jamaican wife. This will be our first Valentine's Day together.

Ok Jay,

I would start by SENDING her flowers http://ww4.1800flowers.com/ (Shameless plug  ). If she is working...send to her JOB if not, then send to home.

Make or Order (dependent upon your talents in the kitchen  ) a nice dinner (HER favorites) (add candles and the whole nine), buy her a nice piece of lingere (something you would like to see her in), get a BEAUTIFUL CARD and express exactly how you feel about spending your very first V-Day together with her in it. Then pull out the little black, or blue box! Earrings, necklace... It doesn't have to be SUPER expensive or Diamonds(Macys should be having a pretty good sale soon). Just a little something that when she puts it on she can remember how much her wonderful husband loves & cherishes her!

Hmmmmm...I think that's it!

Good luck and I have a wonderfu &l creative V-day! Don't forget Jay...you're her best friend...you know what she likes!

Bless-ed,

Gill

P.S.- Don't forget the whipped cream, chocolate syrup , chocolate -covered strawberries and/or a nice bottle of wine! For the after dinner treat!:lol:

Great idea

For our 2nd anniversary (I was sick the 1st one) my friend decorated a hotel room for me and Damien. They had candles, rose petals, confetti and balloons all over the place...even in the bathroom. Hersheys Hugs and Kisses chocolate candies on the bed in a heart shape. I picked out sexy lingerie which she laid on the bed....so pretty. She had also fresh strawberries to dip in chocolate, wine and massage and bath oils. We made a big mess but it was fun cleaning each other up

Gill,

My cousin that came up a last year that's what happened to her fiance. They was so devastated that neither of them heard the CO tell them that they were approved. I'm not sure if he was with them during the interview or waiting in the car. That was the first thing they were told. He don't even remember if the CO asked him more than one question. You know what was really messed up though, the little boy told my cousin that he knew who his daddy was. His mother knew also, but this was just another way to try and keep her ex in jamaica. Well it didn't work, he left 11 days later. The little boy kept saying he was sorry and my cousin told him it's not his fault. It's almost a year now and her husband is still emotionally torn up about this. Does the mother have to sign some form for the child to leave with the fiance? I have a friend that is filing for her fiance, but he has 6 kids and I don't know how that's going to work. She makes more than enough money to care from them and her fiance, but that's a lot. (Any advice).

I'm praying for you and that all works out for the best...99.9% of the DNA and ----- for the (GANGA test)...is that the only drug they test for? If so, why? Let me not open that can of worms.

mr jengles will probably be getting me on the phone screaming at him because he's will not be back by then. lol

the whole dna thing, what do u do, when sort of everyone involves knows he's not the father, but he's supporting the child because he doesn't want the child to feel bad. Oh and everyone knows who the real father is and the mother's dead. I'm at a loss as to what to suggest, but the money could be used elsewhere. Is that cold??

That would be devastating. What I don't understand is why isn't the culture more accepting of those fathers who choose to take care of child, with the occurance rate being so high..I mean one and three. Instead, according to my husband, the men are ridiculed buy people in the community. D says the women do it on purpose as a way of income and a way to survive. The courts will require the "father" to pay child support even if there is no proof to paternity. Is this true? That's crazy, but they will require a DNA test and tell a man...."sorry this isn't your child", but your free to leave the counrty. This is soo sad. and to think this kid knew who his father was. I hear you on the emotional side of it. My husband is devastated by it and wants noone he knows to know esp. not any of his family. I'm praying for you as well, it's best to be prepared and trust your judgement and if I were you, I'd do the test a head of time if it would save him from a bit of embarrisment.
