The most amazing thing happened to me this evening. I hired a babysitter to watch the kids while I go to school. She started this evening. From inital contact she told me she was a christian and when she went to church ok cool. Just wanted her for one night. So she starts tonight and I asked her if she cleaned. I knew she did because one of her references told me. So I asked her how much additional she would charge. (a sister is TIRED when she comes home and weekends all I do is sleep on saturday and do laundry on sunday) anyway my girl told me that the spirit spoke to her and she can't charge me for babysitting. I had to look at her twice and said excuse me and she repeated it. She said the spirit spoke to her and she can't charge me for babysitting and she's only going to do it until mr. jengles comes back. She said when she goes against God something bad happens. I gave her offering to put in the plate.

God knows what no one else knows .. who God Bless no Man curse...BELIEVE THAT..

Now on the keeping it real, speaking to her on the phone, she sounded like a big west indian woman and when I opened the door mi sey...the gyal pretty bad...I was like oh hell no...but she was so sweet...can't judge a book by its cover...

Great news Jengles

Congrats on your MA Nannygirl

 Yup! I went out early this morning and voted after watching the news and hearing the LAST CALL STATEMENT from the Democratic Candidates.

Lita or any West Coast Family members,

Can I ask you...there has been alot of talk in the media lately about how upsetting it is for West Coast voters to hear East Coast results...prior to the end of their polls closing.

How do you feel about that! I didn't realize that they do that in the general election too.

Bless,

Gill

A co-worker and I were just talking about this and other similar things. It is upsetting because for us it feels like our vote doesn't even count. Like they are saying that Super Tuesday will basically decide who will win the nomination. Well our primary isn't for another 2 weeks so what affect does our vote really have? Lots of people ask...why even vote? In my county and state voter turnout is pretty low, I have often concluded that the reasoning behind it is probably because they don't feel like their vote matters. Or when it comes to the actual presidential election. I know many people that have gone to vote when the winner has already been announced because of the time difference.

Why can't we all vote at the same time? or a lot closer together?

I was also wondering about the states that have primaries very early on. How do those people that voted Guiliani or Edwards feel? I think they would feel like their vote was useless since they have since dropped out of the race. What about all those that had to vote so early and didn't get to hear all the latest debates and news...how is that fair?

I think we should all vote at the same time...after all hearing the same speeches, debates, scandals, etc. The way it is set up now makes me feel like it isn't a level playing field.

Yuh know what Yardie...that has ALWAYS bothered me! NY just moved up their Primary for this year...usually we don't vote until May or June...which is TOTALLY useless! Typicall by then there is only ONE candidate to vote for!

But Lita is right! This year for Democrats anyway the race is going to go into March. Because the way the delegates works for Dems is if Hillary get 49% of popular vote and Barack gets 51% of popular vote and let's say a state has 4 delegates to give...the will spilt it 2 for Hillary and 2 for Barack...It's whoever gets 2025 delegates first wins the nomination! A candidate needs to get at least 75% of the popular vote to get ALL of the delegates that a stat has to offer.

However the Republicans work differently. Most states are if you win the popular election regardless of the percentage you get all of the delegates that state has to give. That's why many news organizations are saying McCain COULD wrap-up the nomination tonight, but very doubtful. They have to get 1191 delegates to win it!

SO, if you are a registered Dem...the race is FAR FROM OVER!! However, if your a pubby...then yes it could be tonight, but I don't think it will be. Either way I agree stinks! There should be one Primary/Caucus day...nationally!

Bless, Gill

Oh yeah...I was registered American Independent...but since i have free range I was able to vote on a Democratic ballot. Just in case some of you are Independent or non-Partisan voters you can still vote for a Democratic president if you choose.

oh, just saw your post Yardie. You make a great point about some states voting earlier than others...by days or weeks. Now that IS unfair. I was thinking just east/west coast time difference, but weeks ahead...makes no sense. The one thing to remember is we are a degate and electoral voting country..not a popular vote. So depending on the State you are in depends on just how many votes your candidate gets. So those delegates can really swing a vote. Your votes that you casted really do help get the delegates in your state up and on your side. Also I think i heard that people like Guliani can give their votes to another candidate. Like now you see Guliani supporting McCain so I guess he got his votes. I'm not sure its all so confusing. But after Super Tuesday the elections are not over. they could go well into march as everyone keeps saying. This race is sooo close on the Democrat side it just may take awhile.

Isn't it so confusing

While I kind of understand the whole delegate thing because I am interested in it and have researched it I know that many people don't get it at all, won't take the time to get it and/or could care less. It is those people who don't feel like their vote will count because they don't get this whole jumbled up process and they watch the news that says that the GOP nom is going to be so and so 2 weeks before they even get the chance to vote so they think "why bother?" and don't vote.

Since the Republican race is not so close it will basically be decided before we get to our primary in 2 weeks so all the Republicans in my state will basically vote in a pointless race...their vote really won't matter because statistically our state doesn't carry enough delegates to make an impact either way.

As for the whole Guiliani giving his votes to whomever he endorses...I believe that is the way it works as well. Whatever delegates Guiliani has accumulated when he drops out will be given to whomever he endorses/chooses to turn his votes over to. I think this is a flawed thing as well. Follow this scenario: I am republican and my top three are Guiliani, Romney and Paul...in that order and I despise McCain for whatever reason. Since the candidates don't have to announce who they would endorse if they drop out, I would vote for Guiliani. 3 weeks later Guiliani drops out totally unexpectedly and gives MY vote to McCain. BUT had I known Guiliani would endorse McCain I could have changed my initial vote to be Romney because I would prefer him over McCain. Does that make sense? Why does it have to be like that? I think the whole thing is messed up.

Guiliani had ONE delegate! Can you imagine spending millions for 1 delegate! I was hoping that Edwards would come out with an endorsement before today but...I guess I understand his hesitation!

Yeah I just used him as an example of the messed up process...even though it didn't really matter in that exact scenario.

I can't imagine spending millions on anything  The whole Guiliani race really was a joke when you really look into it.

I think Edwards is holding out to try and secure himself a VP ticket. Doesn't want to pick the wrong person to give his delegates too and risk his chance of a VP nom.

OMG! Speaking of VP tickets...do you know that Hillarys' campaign manager or whatever he is was on interviews saying that they would like to endorse Obama as their VP......LOAD OF #######!!!!:angry::angry::ranting::protest::protest: The only reason they would say this is to deter peoples votes from Obama! This way people who feel he may loose will vote for Hillary in an attempt to get him as their VP!! Hillary is sooooo smeaky, this is why I can't support her!! Obama countered these statements by saying...."VP...that is NOT the race I am running for and it lets me know the real threat I pose to their campaign" Ohhhh I was so pissed when I saw this!!
