Well I don't like the cloth diaper idea but Target makes these biodegradeable diapers! So great! And cheaper than your std diapers. As far as the formula thing... i really won't give it to my baby. i am pretty health conscious about what I put into my own body so I surely will be that way with my child. I know it takes alot more work and time but once you get in the groove of preparing a healthier meal its easy. its the same as eating fast food just casue its fast. yes its convienent but is it really the best choice. Now I am sure formula isn't all bad for you, but I rather not introduce chemically altered foods so early on if I can, they have the rest of their lives for that.

I think you mean you PLAN to breastfeed your baby. Nothing is CERTAIN.

Well of course. haha. If the baby doesnt take...then I gotta find other options. This is just the plan.

Lita I also planned on breasfeeding the 1st yr but after 4mths I stopped producing milk...sh ewas drinking way too much I wasn't producing to fill her....the formula has the same thins that are in breast milk..not much difference if any at all...

I don't know, but why do some people feel that breastfeeding is digusting. I loved it. The milk was always the right temperature and I didn't have to do a thing, but WIPE it out. I fed my son anywhere. If I was in public you could not tell I was nursing. It just looked like he was asleep. I also nursed for 5 months until his top and bottom teeth come in. He had 4 teeth at 5 months. After the first bite it was okay, but the next one mi nearli dead. My mom said I would get use to it, but HECK no...that hurt too much. So, I had a large supply of frozen breast milk and I mixed it with formula. My son had no problems with the combination. I had enough frozen milk to last. My son is a soy baby, and SOY FORMULA is not cheap. For some reason he can't do anything milk or dairy base. He turns RED. So, he's 4 now and slim. My next challenge now is to get him to eat YANKEE food. He starts school in September and he won't eat things that other kids eat. He won't eat bread, cookies, cake, candy...he does not drink soda (glad for that). At his birthday parties he's never eaten his cake. I thought something was wrong with him because he would not eat sweets. He always said yuck. But the doctors say that's fine. When he was a baby he was so FAT and I loved it. But the doctors gave me a hard time saying I was feeding him too much. At that time, he was only getting breastmilk. He started walking at 7 months, so he thined out very quickly and at his 12 month visit they told me he needed to gain weight...u know I was PISSED. My mom told me to pay them no mind.

You know I couldn't beleive a woman, another mother, would think it was bad! It blew my mind. Being 500 miles away from my own mom was hard, she would try to support me but with the jerk around I was stressed. I know with my fiance now, when we plan on a child it will be so different. A more happy, loving situation. I think my daughter's father was (and is) just insecure.

Haha, this is so funny. I forgot all about the biting thing. My mother talked about that alot too. You know I only took breastmilk and my mother said i would never take formula or a bottle for that matter. She said she would try and mix the formula too and it was hard for me to take it. And then I grew up never really liking sweets. Not sure if the breast milk had anything to do with it. breastfeeding does seem easier. here's to praying i get a breast loving baby..haha!................

I don't know that I'd call it easier in any sense of that word.

I do wish you luck, Marlita. I hope it will work out how you want it to.

I breastfed my older son until he was 18 months old. Exclusively breast milk until he was 6 months, then introduced baby food. Then started him on cow's milk at a year, still breastfed him as much as I could.

With this baby, exclusively breast milk so far (he's five months), I plan to breastfeed him until at least a year.....

My MIL wants to give him baby food, but my husband nearly had a fit lol, he says he will have baby food at six months and not before!

He is nice and fat, he weighs 17lbs, so he's doing fine. The paediatrician says it's impossible to overfeed breastfed babies.

As for breastfeeding in public, I find the States very different than the UK.

In the UK, women breastfeed in public, no-one bats an eyelid. Also, the MAJORITY of places have breastfeeding facilities in the restrooms.

Here, not so many do.

I refuse to breastfeed him in a stall, so if the mall I go to has no facilities, I pick a Macys or large department store and feed him on one of those couches. Haven't been thrown out yet.

That's what I'm saying. I planned on both of mine. Had these perfect grand ideas of how it was all going to go.

First one, my body would not cooperate whatsoever. He was 10 lbs. at birth, so that might actually have been a good thing.

The second, I did for about 5 months. I worked in an accounting office, tax season and 60+ hour weeks kicked in and the body stopped cooperating once again.

Yup, I hear you on that JG. My first one was a monster and I didn't produce enough milk to sustain him for more than 20 minutes. So, I had to supplement with formula. But I still gave him the breast for a year.

The second one was allergic to my milk and had to have a $20.00 a day formula that dyam near killed me!! I actually did my thesis on Formula companies that went around to 3rd world countries telling women that Formula was better than breast to make a buck!!:angry: So, these poor women that were making on average $15 dollars a month were KILLING themselves to give their babies formula!!

I believe in breast feeding! If you can...DO!!! It is usually the best thing you can give your Baby! Case and point, my first son is rarely ill and my second one is ALWAYS suffering from colds and picks up any germ within 20 miles of him!

Bless-ed,

Gill

Breatfeeding is great! I wanted to do it but could not. Hats off to those who can or could.

I have nothing against formula either it yes it's convient but also healthy; often made to give the same health benefits of breast milk....I had three healthy kids on formula.

A St Lucian Fireman

A St Lucian fireman came home from work one day and said to his wife “y”know sumthing, we have a wonderful new system at de fire station…

Bell 1 rings - we put on our jackets

Bell 2 rings - we slide down de pole

Bell 3 rings - we jump on de engine and we’s ready to go

From now on when I says “Bell One” me want you to strip naked. When I says “Bell two” you jump on de bed. When I says “Bell three” we’s gonna make love all tru de night.

The next night he came home and shouted Bell one and she stripped naked Bell two and she jumped on the bed Bell three and they started to make love.

After a few minutes the wife yelled out Bell four!

An what de hell is bell four? The fireman yelled. She replied “Roll out more hose man, roll out more hose. You aint nowhere near de fire!”
