Another link from the JA Gleaner: Diana Ross Boo'd At The Jazz/Blues Festival

She'll be in Ft. Lauderdale in March and I was going to go with some of my friends...I need to rethink it though. I can't believe she did that

Whan I saw this story this morning in the Gleaner, my thought was is she even this popular still to demand this kind of thing? What a diva. Probably didn't want her wrinkles shown on the big screen!

I'm surprised she didn't start a riot!!!!!

Good evening, ladies..................

After I finished my happy dance, I wanted to share. Watching tv last night and I saw Zyrtec (allergy meds) went OTC. Last year, I thought I was going to die cause I stopped taking them. My co-pay was $45 a month, there was no generic for them, nothing else was working, and since sometimes something has to give, I had to quit taking them. I suffered miserably.

Today, I am excited about the coming spring. Checked out Walgreens and it was $18.99 for a 30 day supply. And, I see them on sale often. Even if I only take them every other day, I'll be in so much better shape this year. Woo Hoo!!!!!!

Ok, OK.......slow day for anything exciting. You just have no idea how happy this makes me today.

Gillie, Mi see yuh new siggie dere! Can I juss seh mi love love love Barack Obama!! I saw that speech after he won So. Carolina and tears come tuh mi eyes! I see such great things for that man. I literally have to pray and ask God for his protection, and strength and favor. I have not been this touched by a politician in all mi life!!! The diversity of people alone that were at his campagin celebration were more diverse than I have EVER seen any other presidents. That was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. So yes:

"The choice in this election is not between regions or religions or genders. It's not about rich versus poor; young versus old; and it is not about black versus white. It's about the past versus the future." (L)

Gurl, You and me both! I was bawling my eyes out because for the first time in EIGHT LONG, MISERABLE, HARD, DISGUSTING years...there is a bright and SHINY light at the end of this VERY dark tunnel! There is a person that is working for Red and Blue states, White, Black & Brown people to bring us together to build a better country!! When he finished his speech on Saturday I was on my feet, clapping, han crying my eyes out!! :crying::crying: Chanting "YES.WE.CAN...YES.WE.CAN!!!!" I was truly excited about being a part of the electoral process again!!

Blessed,

Gill (L)(L)

P.S.- I can't tell you how hurt and disappointed I am with Bill right now!! His comments were DISGRACEFUL!! Well Bill...I STILL BELIEVE IN FAIRY TALES!!!!!!! :P:P Dyam Facety han outta order..."Hil. mi dear...Yuh need fi check yuh man!" ;)

Jomo, mi dear,

I am so happy for you! My Sister suffers horribly from allerigies and I couldn't imagine her not having access to her meds. That sucks having to pick between your health and putting food on the table!! Well, I'm glad it's OTC now and you will be able to get relief!:lol::lol:

I'm liking the guy thus far.

Hang in there, Claire. Hopefully, it's a small issue and quickly resolved.

NKOTB......I forgot all about Donny Walberg being in that group. Wonder if they are all coming back? Didn't one of them suffer horrible panic attacks?

Thanks JG :thumbs::thumbs:

I'm a firm believer in not putting the cart before the horse. I'm probably not a good example, though, cause I do the same thing. I freak out way too much.

You've made it this far. Find out what the problem is. Fix it. And, then you move along.

I do have confidence you will be just fine.

Hey girls.

I just talked to Sarah. She said her and Marlon are doing well. He got his EAD today and both are thrilled. Driver's license is next. She also got a new job. She sounds so happy.

Again, she promised she would post some pictures. All I said was yah, right!

She should be getting a new computer and the internet again, so she'll be on when she can.

Ok, OK.......slow day for anything exciting. You just have no idea how happy this makes me today.

Now please don't get me wrong, I do really like America, I think it does have MANY advantages over the UK.

But one thing I DON'T get is the heath care system. In the UK, NO children have to pay for medication.

For everyone who can afford it, there's like a $10 charge for ANY medication.

Here in the US it seems to me that if you earn a decent amount, or you earn NOTHING you're ok.

But there seems to be am invisible barrier trying to force people who are just scraping by into poverty.

My son's paediatrician prescribed him some Prevacid.

When we went to get it at the pharmacy, it was free for us but the amount the insurance paid was $150!!!!!!!

Now HOW THE %#%$%&$ could someone with no health insurance afford that????

What broke my heart was imagining someone's baby spitting up and in pain and the parents having to make hard choices about which to buy, food or medicine.

What was the final straw is that, the medicine DIDN'T even WORK!

What I did was take the unused portion back to the paediatrician to give to anyone who needed it and would have had to pay otherwise.

Then we had a looong conversation about that, she was just shaking her head, sometimes it breaks her heart to see the struggles her patients go through..

I finally found a civil surgeon who says they'll do it for $50......Some other VJers said he charged them $25, so will try at bargaining when I get there lol!!

Driving over to see him today, fingers crossed lol

So ya'll ketch the joke...I put on my clothes this morning...couldn't zip up the pants, but it could hook, so mi seh alright, mi will just wear mi blouse outside of my pants. It was a side zip. I put on the blouse it could button but the whole of tummy is showing because it gaping between buttons. So at this point I'm like #######. so I bend over to pick up something and the pants bust at the hook.

All I could say to myself was d@mn girl, u getting big.

Wah haaa!!! Girl yuh crazy nah! This reminds me of the time I ripped my jeans in the butt when I went to sit down in the car a couple years ago.~!! ha ha, I was on my way home but it was too funny. It was just like how it happens on tv. LOL!

MAWNIN ladies I feel your pain,

Well, 10 years ago I went on a job interview (the job I have now) and I had on one BLUE shoe and one BROWN shoe. and I did not know until I sat down at the interview and crossed my leg. The lady interviewing me asked "did you know that you had on two different colour shoes and me with my SMART mouth, replied, I do now. I was embrassed for 2 secs, but just played it on. She kept looking at my shoes, so I asked her which colour looked better with my outfit the BLUE one or the BROWN one? I honestly don't remember her asking me or telling me much about the job. This was the topic of the interview, my SHOES (I got the job, so now complaints here). She said she liked the way I handled it. Like there was anything else I could do or say.

********************************************************************************

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

JaEngy,

I hear you!! It is a dyam disgrace that we can not come up with a National Health Plan for all in this great country!! When my parents finally decided to become U.S. citizens my father insisted that we all keep our British Citizenship...he pays into the UK's tax health system every year...just in case he should ever need to he can go back to the UK and have his surgery and not have to worry about the cost.

Whenever my pediatrician writes out a prescription I feel ashamed asking him is it brand or generic!?!?! It shouldn't matter!! If a CHILD is sick...parents shouldn't have to worry about the cost!!

What you said about the middle class was DEAD ON!!! Unfortunately, the 'middle class' is becoming a dying breed! The rich are good cause they have their D.C. cronies and lobbyists to ensure that they KEEP their money! The poor have certain services available to them...but those of us that get up everyday BUST OUR RASS just fi keep food pon deh table and a roof over our heads get SCREWED!!! Even dis likkle $600 hand-out they want to give us...seriously do they think that is REALLY gonna solve the HUGE problem with our economy!?!?!

Don't let no one fool ya ...WE ARE IN A RECESSION AND HAVE BEEN FOR SOME TIME!!!

The middle class is living paycheck to paycheck just to make it through another day and NO ONE in D.C. seems to GET IT!!!

So, JG...to answer your question YES, I believe that Barack has a REAL shot at getting the nomination!!! I HAVE TOO!!! Because he is the first politican in a LONG time that I have heard addreessing the REAL issues!!! Trust me I am so over him being black...tell you the truth...up until a few weeks ago I was voting for Hilary! But when I actually heard Barack speak...I changed my mind! I think that sometimes we are afraid to believe that anything is possible...can you blame us? We have been sold a bill of goods over and over again by politicans and we get nothing but pushed deeper in the hole!

Barack has dared me to dream and believe that their are still politicans who are good people out there that actual give a dyam about the American people!

* Gill, is now getting down from the soapbox (Jengy thanks for letting me borrow it! ;) )* Sorry for the rant...but what JAEngy said touched a nerve and I had to get it out!

Let me guh look fuh mi chuckle fi post!

Love ya'll,

Gill

How Long Before I Can Get A Haircut?

A guy sticks his head into a barber shop and asks, " Hey Boss, ow long before I can git a haircut?" The barber looks around the shop and says, "bout 2 hours." The guy leaves.

A few days later the same guy sticks his head in the door and asks "Hey Boss, ow long before I can git a haircut?" The barber looks around at the shop full of customers and says, "Bout 3 hours." The guy leaves.

A week later the same guy sticks his head in the shop and asks, "Hey Boss, ow

long before I can get a haircut?" The barber looks around the shop and says, "Bout an hour and half." The guy leaves.

The barber looks over at a friend in the shop and says, "Yow, Bill, follow dat guy and see where he goes fuh mi. He keeps asking how long he haffi wait fuh a haircut, but em nuh come back." A little while later, Bill

comes back into the shop, laughing hysterically. The barber asks, "Bill, is where em guh?"
