I was just taking the husband to his office for a meeting. He broke his collarbone playing soccer on Sunday and can't drive yet. He's been home w/ me all week (I work from home). It's been kinda nice having company, but a convalescing male (and associated moaning and groaning) can be a trial!

March 7, 2005: I-129F NOA1

September 20, 2005: K-1 Interview in London. Visa received shortly thereafter.

AOS

December 30, 2005: I-485 received by USCIS

May 5, 2006: Interview at Phoenix district office. Approval pending FBI background check clearance. AOS finally approved almost two years later: February 14, 2008.

Received 10-year green card February 28, 2008

Indeed! I'm not the best patient either, but I'm truly stoic comparatively.

He'll be OK. In fact, he says he feels improvement already. He has a follow-up appointment this afternoon to make sure he's healing OK.

I do copyediting and proofreading. Also, I do indexing when I'm feeling jaunty!

Thanks! I hope it doesn't sound like I'm being unsympathetic. I'm trying to take good care of him. When I had surgery last year, he was teasing me for being a wimp (which is true enough), so of course I have to get mine back! :)

Groovy! I'm getting tired of it, but it pays the bills. And sometimes I get to work on interesting stuff! I'd rather go to grad school and/or write a novel. I need to get going on that!

I've worked on a number of scholarly journals since about 2002, and I'm continually surprised by how bad some of the writing is. I used to work on two popular culture journals (that was actually fun), and some of the writing was atrocious! From people with PhDs in English! I'm thinking man, I'd have a big advantage if I ever did go to grad school. If I could decide on what to study, that is...
