nessa you're so bad! I can't believe you've left me alone on the weight loss! I've lost 8lbs so far...YAY! If you want to bow out it's ok I have platy to keep me company

Wow! 8 lbs.! That's impressive.

I think I've lost about 4 pounds since the new year, which is pretty good for me 'cuz I'm only 5'3" and have a metabolism, as my mother likes to say, "for the Russian famine."

My husband, with only marginal effort, has lost about 8 pounds. Pisses me off. Well, kind of.

Maybe I should post more in the weight loss thread for encouragement.

I guess I missed that Amber post. I gained my weight all over again, maybe even more. I don't feel like working out or making any effort to lose weight. I'm sorry I left you alone Amber :(

Hey all! We're iced in. Our power just now came back on, it's been off almost all night long. We currently have about .75 inches of ice out there. So, here me and Javi sit just chillin watching Montel.:lol:

I wish I was snowed in booty! I wanted to stay home nad lounge around but instead I get to come here and do inventory. I forgot to tell everyone the big news...I'm closing the business on Feb 29. I'm bored and I hate it so much. When I see people coming towards the entrance I actually pray they're not coming in because I don't want to have to deal with them. I'm totally burnt out and I'm not challenged. I went to culinary school because I wanted to be a chef and now I hate it. It was fun while it lasted. I plan to go back to college in the fall but I'll probably take 1 or 2 summer classes just to get back into the swing of things.

Amber that is exactly what I did. I went to culinary school for a couple of years, I had my own restaurant fo 4 years and like you became bored and unchallenged, so I closed down and enrolled in school. I received my BS and am working on MBA in less than 5 years. At the time everyone thought I was crazy to close down a fairly successful business and go to college.

It was the best decision I ever made, I am currently working as an Adminstrator at a University the money is less, but I have opportunity for international travel (how I met my SO), MBA is 85% paid by employeer. I have never been happier.

Congratulations and Good Luck!!!! Change is inevitable it is what we do when things change that makes life enjoyable and rewarding.

thanks so much! everyone thinks I'm crazy as well but I'm still young enough that I want to be doing something that makes me happy and challenges me for years to come. I've thought of working at the university here where they have a catering company even if I'm cooking just because they pay full tuition for their employees

right now im only doing pyramid series up, no rest between series, big muscles, upper and then lower body, then 5 minutes cardio between pairs.. no small muscles, so no forearms or stuff like that, only exercises that use a lot of muscles.. plus 30min cardio at the end

Life is about change and finding a path that can bring us happiness, and everyone has their own journey.

When you went to culinary school, they probably called you crazy?

When you opened your own business, they probably called you crazy?

When you married a person from another country, they probably called you crazy?

(fill in the blank), they will probably call you crazy!!!!

IMO... if that path takes you to university and then back to business or wherever it is your (and spouse) path to walk.

Yeah, I pyramid up 4 sets to where I can only do 5 or 6 reps on heaviest 3rd, then go down to do 10 to 12 on last set. I try to sneak in my work outs 3-4 times a week alternating doing only one group of muscles in either legs, shoulders, chest, back and arms with a 20 min cardio fast incline walk. In the summer I like to do short sprints on the rubber track - to much gets to my knees but love running. I also try to eat right but no more protein shakes cas they just stick to me to much. Not really trying to get bigger, just trying to stay strong and healthy plus I really feel good when and after i lift, and keep the battle of the bulge at a stalemate.

Keep up the good workouts.
