Neil won't do it. He just thinks I'm mean. I think we should have her secitoned so she gets off the drink. She might hate us but she will be sober. I really like her when she isn't drinking though. She's really interesting to speak to. She has so many stories and such. It has to end soon though because she is 54 and my 95yr old great grandmother looked younger than she does now when she passed away in September.

maybe she needs a #######. Have you seen that movie with Kevin Costner and Joan Allen the Upside of Anger. Maybe that's what she needs, a man (one that doesn't drink )

Then why don't you tell her if she doesn't sober up you're selling the house?

tell an alcoholic to sober up and they'll do it. if only it was that easy... i say put her in rehab for life and sell the house. use part of the money to pay for rehab

Neil would never agree to rehab...maybe one day when she does something compeltely stupid or hurts herself. Right now he just doesn't like to even think about her. He wouldn't call her if I didn't make him.

she used to be more "normal" but she's always been a drinker. she used to be a vet and then her mom and husband died 3 months apart about 7yrs ago and she has been pretty much insane since. she actually sleeps with their urns in her bed.

I know that they won't stop drinking just because someone asked them to, but sometimes an incentive to quit might do the job. There are cases, it's not common, but it exists. Sorry the ####### joke offended you.

I know that they won't stop drinking just because someone asked them to, but sometimes an incentive to quit might do the job. There are cases, it's not common, but it exists. Sorry the ####### joke offended you.

Exceptions to what? It's a disease that I've never seen an alcoholic get through without rehab or daily meetings. They have to want to do it, no threats will work.
