you're reading way too much into this. i've been hearing immigration tales since the day i was born (my parents immigrated here in the early 70s) and from everything i hear, it was just as bad back then.

government is government. doesn't matter what dept is running things. public sector attracts garbage.

But the Department of Homeland Security does nothing but add to the bureaucracy. Seriously, my two firsthand experiences with DHS have been this debacle (TERRIBLE) and the handling of Katrina (EVEN WORSE).

I'm seriously getting to the point of giving up on the entire US government. It is faulty and is very quickly becoming the undoing of this country.

Carols freind in florida has been waiting for three months for her greencard. She drives to Tallahasee to see ####### was going on they told her they lost her finger prints. They didnt notify her of this, she could have been waiting who knows how long.

that sounds typical.

every time i go to ins office in newark or our local social security office i am amazed at the lack of professionalism and downright obtuseness of the people who work there.

dmv's have gotten better though. i am not sure how or why. and the post office i am very pleased with, those guys know what they're doing.

I think my hubby is going to ban me from all VJ forums but this one. I'm getting to wound up with people griping all the time about USCIS taking so much time. We waited 4 months for a NOA1 and the separation is killing me; but I'm so sick of people just assuming that public servants aren't doing anything. People forget that the fee increase slowed things down for all of us. It's just disheartening to see 40090839483 new threads everyday about how USCIS sucks and Public Servants don't care. Plenty of us do!
