K3 JULY FILERS

DARN, I'm also waiting! Nothing yet, no news. Anymore July filers out there still waiting? Or is there only a few of us?

I'm still waiting too!! And no word yet. Not a single one!!!

The wait has been horrible as you all know. The worst is that there are at least 4 couples I know of via this site that submitted their apps 2-3 weeks before me in late June, and were all approved on 11/28/2007. WHY THE DISPARITY IN PROCESSING TIMES????????

I've called USCIS several times and each time the answer is the same: Until 180 days have passed they can give me NO information. My case hasn't even been touched! And I'm getting upset and frustrated. I feel for all of you more than myself because at least I've been blessed to be able to work remotely from Brazil and spend approx every other month with my wife. I work in software and can do my job over the internet. What a beautiful blessing!! But the wait is unacceptable! I want more information from USCIS! They have it - WHY WON'T THEY SHARE IT????????

Visa processing is a queue-based system. why can't we at least know where we're at in the queue??? Wouldn't that TINY BIT OF INFORMATION make the wait much much much easier to bear?? Because then we could at least prepare mentally for the wait, knowing where we're at.

*uhg*

Hi there, sorry you haven't been approved. It appears USCIS goes by the K3 filing date. You filed in September, so it might still be a while for you. Hopefully I'm wrong!!!

Hello my husband also filed our I-130 on July 17, 2007 then our I-129F on July 29, 2007 and our I-130 got approved on Dec. 12, 2007 but until now our I-129F is still pending so my husband called the NVC where they already give us our Case Number and was told that our papers will no longer be process as K3 instead it will be CR1 since I-130 got approved first so i suggest you better give NVC a call for you to know what is happening...

I am so upset, I just got off the phone with USCIS used the RFE line and they advise me that because of the new guidelines as of July 30, 2008, K-3 visas are no longer being worked on, they are being cancelled. Just 1-130 and that is being held up because of additional security check =( I started to cry because I think it can take up to additional 6 months more for my husband to come…They advise me that it won’t take that long and they would call me, they even asked for my phone number.. But I just don’t believe it anymore. I am so depress and so angry with the system. It doesn’t make sense at all.. Can I ask if this has happen to anyone before?

Jimmy and Angela, pick the options to get to talk to someone at the CSC (use the RFE trick - do a search of the forums for how) and you may get some information. Sometimes it's helpful, sometimes it's completely not. It can't hurt to check in once and see what's going on, I suppose. Good luck!

After 7 LONG and painfully agonizing weeks (filled with USCIS - CSC runaround depending on the day I called and who I spoke with), I just found out the NVC received the I-129F yesterday and sent it to the Consulate today!!

I'm so relieved this part is over. I'm cautious about all that's left given the history of all of this (won't count my chickens before they hatch and all), but finally I see a light at the end of the tunnel (though I don't just yet trust it's not another train headed my way).

my husband is also a software engineer and he lived with me in brazil for 6 months, while working remotely to his office in chigago

i was worried that this could cause trouble for us, considering that he was working in brazil, but i guess not, right? after all, he is not filing taxes in brazil or receiving money from a brazilian company... i suppose your case and my husband's is similar to writers who go to other countries to write... you write, exept it's code :)

but what kind of visa are you using here? a tourist visa? haven't you gone over your 180 days limit yet?

my husband did, and now he can't return here on a tourist visa until late april :( because of that, we'll have to either file for his permanent visa to brazil, or i'll likely have to attend my interview alone :(

I have friends who live in Brazil (USC) and return every year for the holidays. Here is what they do and have been doing for years. Upon arrival at the airport pay the federal police fine. I think its around 800 or 900 reais. Upon arrival in the US apply for a new passport claiming the USC passport was lost. Once the new passport arrives get a round trip ticket and head down to the Brazilian consolate. Brazil is still 40 to 140 years away from having any type of computer system that will show your husband overstayed. The RNE process is slow like anything, but you can get that protocol fairly quickly which will allow him to travel to Brazil.
