OBAMA BEATING HILLARY IN IOWA POLLS.... Hallellujah, will he vanquish the ######?

What I don't understand is why there is so much vitriol in these threads about politics. No one will ever get anyone to change their minds (particulary dem vs. rep).

So clearly, after the "information" is passed on, why the spewing of such hatred? (A couple of you sound like my ex-husband with the aggressive anger about politics.)

Whenever people express misguided emotions on issues, I also wonder. Perhaps some kind of Freudian thing.

Maybe. And I hope that it's something deeper that what I see on the surface here... because (how I see it) what's on the surface (in these political threads) is raw hatred... and it has to be deeper than that. There has to be something more to it, something rational.

Hillary can't win because they are too many people who just don't like her.

A very large number of people hate Bush almost as irrationally as some people hate Hilary - yet he was elected twice. Trust me, it can happen especially if the current Republican candidates are the best on offer.

If she wins the nomination, she will be President. Thats why the news of the Obama surge in Iowa is so exciting to me. Just when I thought there was no hope...

I think that's right. I'm pretty much firmly in the Obama camp; I'd hold my nose and vote for Hillary in the general, but I really wouldn't be happy about it.

Otherwise, people, if you refer to Hillary as a b!tch constantly, that does make you a little bit sexist. If you want to insist that you're not sexist, try not using loaded sexist language. It's just not parallel with ####### or other gender neutral derogatory terms. Otherwise it's like referring to Obama as 'that uppity n--' and insisting that it has nothing to do with race because you haven't actually called for a lynching.

To me the word b!tch isn't a gender slam but a comment on the persons personality. And also b!tch and ####### are the same thing just one is used for a female azzhole and the other is for a male azzhole.

I think a lot of the hyped up hatred is really aprehension which could quickly dissolve once she's in office an she begins to make some changes. It happened with Harry Truman.

Those "changes" that she wants is what is prompting the hatred. A Hillary term in office would be a disastar of epic proportions for this country. I would rather see anyone but Hillary as president, dem hopefulls included. But that is just my opinion of course.

Raising taxes, socialized health care, expanding of the nanny state, the fact she can't make up her mind on the war on terror, ect.... I can't name one thing she has said she would do that I agree with in fact.

Couldn't you say the same thing about any of the other Democratic candidates?

To some degree or another, yes. But Hillary is all those (IMO) bad things all rolled up into one. It's not just her politics (which is bad enough) but she is so un-likable in every way. I don't see her as putting the countries needs first but as someone that places her own desire for power first. I just don't trust her at all and her gender has nothing to do with it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: There are more than two families in this country that have President material in them.

US Presidents since 1988: Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton-and then what - Jeb just to have a Bush again?

** that.

Trust is on a continuous spectrum and, IMO, it'd be foolish for any American to blindly trust any one single politician, which then goes back to policy. I'm just trying to figure out why she gets your panties in twist moreso than say, Obama or Edwards. If it's merely partisan ranting then I can understand ....you probably were just as vile about Kerry. You hate her because she's the frontrunner and she has a really good shot at being elected President, correct?
