I-134 bank letter help...

Can anyone with experience requesting the bank letter through Bank of America elaborate on their experience? Did you obtain it at a local branch, over the phone or via bank mail on the internet? Were there any fees associated with the request?

You can request it at a local branch. It will take about 7 days to get it in the mail. There is a $10.00 fee. After I recieved the bank letter, I also printed out 1 years worth of bank deposits as more supporting evidence of my income and sent that off to my fiancee.

I happen to have online access to my accounts.

So, I printed account summaries for each of these, and had the I-134 notarised at the local branch.

No fees for either.

So bank letter and I-134 are two different things right?

I know we need to have I-134 notarized.

Do we also need to have Bank letters notarized?

If i print out my 1year statement online, do i need to get that notarized too?

thanks a lot in advance

I simply went to my local bank with everything that needed notarized and

the bank officer printed out my bank account balances, then notarized all

the papers I handed her. It was really simple.

Good Luck

All of you with bank letter issues - I didn't submit any bank letters for the K1 or the AOS. In my opinion, it is not needed if you qualify based on income alone - if you don't then you will need it to support the total assets you are using to qualify. Good Luck

I use Bank of America. I requested the letter at the local branch, it took about 5-7 days to arrive, and there was a $10 charge. Also, the letter covered the requirements of the I-134 EXCEPT the deposits and withdrawals for the past 12 months. It says if you need that then refer to your bank statements.

Thank you to everyone who posted Bank of America experiences! Your input is valuable.

I'll give the local branch back in St. Louis a phone call and see how consistent their answers are to your replies of experience!

My lawyer had me submit in our original petition 3 months of statements, and a bank letter stating the amount in each account, when I opened the accounts. I am above the poverty guidelines with my salary, should I make sure I have the originals submitted in the original petition as well as the ones since submitting? I know in HCMC someone posted something about needing $20,000 in your account. I don't know if this was due to being below the poverty guidelines, or if you submit the statements and you don't have $20,000 in your account you will run into problems.

Any help is appreciated
