I understand it's retails best day, heck I worked in retail.. but construction?! ####### is the purpose of working on black friday, but to piss people off? it's dumb! black friday, xmas eve, new year, why?! is it construction people have no life?

lOLOL.. of now, we still don't know if we're gonna work on fri.. I really hope not.. even if they pay me uber-overtime.. damn.. no, i don't wanna work

Lots of people work on the Fri after Thanksgiving. One of my previous employers did not have that day on their holiday schedule. My current one does though.

We dont work Black Friday, but we dont get paid either. We get Thursday and Friday off, but only get paid for Thursday. Weirdness abounds.

I'm off on both days but only because they take one of our other holidays and use it for Friday. Columbus Day or Veteran's Day or one of the other ones. They also do that for Christmas so I end up with 2 weeks off at Christmas. I do have to take a few vacation days in there but I don't mind. I love having 2 weeks to get things done during the holidays.

Well, this is one time when I really super really love my job 1/2 day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (all paid). Two weeks at Christmas, 4 days in February, 1 week in April.... But, I work plenty hard for it so there's a trade-off.

But in grad school I worked at Blockbuster Video (damn place NEVER closes) and a coffee shop (ditto).

hubby works with medical supplies and hospitals still need their supplies, they don't close for the holidays...

his work asked for volunteers to work on Friday and hubby was origanly not going to work on Friday bu t he didn't end up working today so he is going to work on Friday now.. but he is going to get paid double time and half....

I'm off my full-time job Thursday and Friday with pay.

I have to work at 4:45 in the freakin' morning on Friday at my part-time job. All day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

This weekend is going to suck!
