I agree with MarilynP on Firefly. Fox Execs can go get their ### chewed on by a Reaver for cancelling that show At least it got a movie I suppose, which was the LEAST they could have done *sigh*.

they ruined any chance of that show being popular because they played it all out of order... I watched the show after the fact in the correct order... the episode they originally played for the pilot on FOX totally sucked because it jumped right in and you had no idea what was going on....

Totally. That one came down to pure mismanagement because FOX wanted to start off with an action episode.

yeah, I can see why people couldn't get into the show with that episode, I think it was called Train Job , as the pilot

yeah that was very strange... FOX totally hyped that show for like 2 months and then they only played a few episodes

I was actually watching that. It wasn't the most thrilling TV series but I was prepared to give it a go. Mainly due to Nathan Fillion being in it. Apparently it didn't get the ratings Fox wanted so they binned it.

Just found out that Dead Like Me is currently being made into a film. Mandy Patinkin has left though and "Desmond" from Lost is playing the Head Reaper instead.

cool, won't be the same without him but still cool that they are making a movie....

i have heard that they are making a Knight Rider movie with the possibitly of a new series... and David Hasselhof is going to be in it but it will be his "son" who will be driving the car...

mmm, not sure about that because Dead like me last aired in October 2004 and his new show didn't air until September 2005....

I think Showtime just wanted to cancel the show, maybe it wasn't getting enough ratings or something.....

The series was nominated for a total of eight awards including two Emmys for "Outstanding Music Composition for a Series" and "Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series" and three Saturn Awards.[23] The show's complete ratings were not released, though executives had claimed to at least one reporter that Dead Like Me had ratings three times Showtime's primetime average.[24] This contradicts the network's statement that the ratings were not high enough for a third season.[25] When questioned by critics about the ratings in January 2005, Showtime Chairman and CEO Matthew Blank responded "I really don't think we know...."[26]

Fuller's departure

Bryan Fuller (Dead Like Me's creator) left early in the first season due to conflicts with MGM Television, including disagreement over major script and storyline cuts considered important to the main theme. He stated that the "lack of professionalism...made it really difficult...It was like being at war...They were constantly trying to strong arm me. It was the worst experience of my life." According to Fuller, Showtime canceled the show because of "a loss of quality and a sense the problems would continue."
