When NVC receives the $$ for the IV fee, I imagine it would take them a few days to cash it - how does one know that the Cashier's check has been cashed? That would give a good indication that they are ready to send out the DS-230 form after that I would guess...

Thanks all!

So I called today.. Guess what.. They got my IV fee.. and DS230 is Generated!!

After you mail the IV Fee, wait for 4-5 days and start calling NVC everyday. They will let you know when DS 230 is generated after they enter IV Fee payment on their system.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

They e-mailed me today unexpectedly in response to another query, and told me it had been received. Call tomorrow--you should get some kind of change of status.

Well, I did call NVC today and checked their automated system, it says "NVC is expecting return of the biographic forms by the petitioner... " So my question is: Since it does not specifically say that DS-230 was generated, or what date it was generated, does this message mean that the DS-230 has been generated (I assume so)? How do I know what date to put on my DS-230 Coversheet that I have generated using shortcut?

I have already generated the barcode using the shortcut method, the only thing missing on there is the date...The message on the automated system is new, today is the first day that I have heard it on there...so, does anybody have any idea about this?? Does it matter that you get the exact date right on the DS-230 coversheet??

Thanks again.

Yes, it means that your DS 230 has been generated. TO be 100% confirm, you should call NVC and speak with an operator live and ask him/er whether your DS 230 packes is generated. Don't tell the operator that you are mailing out your DS 230 before you receive DS 230 packet.

Same here... I spoke to a Live Operator and told me that they have received my IV payment, and I will be receiving my DS230 Packet in 2-4 weeks.

But on the Automated machine it still says I am still missing info. Which I have already received the checkist of info I am missing and it only list the IV bill that I am missing which I have paid and a live operator confirming my payment.

How long do they update the automated service? Is it everyday or once a week?

:) It depends on what process you are with NVC for the messages to be updated. Study the NVC Flowchart for CR1/ IR1 and the NVC Automated Messages. There are some occassions when you have to call and speak to a live operator for status and verification.
