This one is hubby's muscle car. It actually doesn't have much muscle right now as it needs a lot of restoration. Looks pretty on the outside but needs a lot of work on the inside.

A muscle car is a high-performance automobile. The term principally refers to American, Australian and South African models and generally describes a 2-door rear wheel drive mid-size car with a large, powerful V8 engine and special trim, intended for maximum torque on the street or in drag racing competition. It is distinguished from sports cars, which were customarily and coincidentally considered smaller, two-seat cars, or GTs, two-seat or 2+2 cars intended for high-speed touring and possibly road racing. High-performance full-size or compact cars are arguably excluded from this category, as are the breed of compact sports coupes inspired by the Ford Mustang. Other factors used in defining classic muscle cars are their age and country of origin. A classic muscle car is usually made in the US or Australia between 1964 and 1975. Notably, the term "muscle car" did not enter common usage until after production of the cars had essentially ended. During their heyday, print media usually referred to this class of vehicle as "supercars".

I sold it in 1992, but this was my 1968 Camaro SS350. I bought it from the original owner in 1979 and it had 110,000 miles on it. I rebuilt the engine and did most of the mechanical restoration myself. I farmed out the paint and bodywork. The car had never been wrecked and needed minor body prep before getting painted. I used a majority of the stock parts and left it 90% original. I hated the powerglide transmission and replaced it with a turbo 350 automatic tranny. Other than that and a few other minor differences, I tried to keep it factory stock. It was a fun car to drive and got a lot of attention when I drove it. I never regretted selling it. I had it for 13 years and that was enough.

Here's my 1968 Mustang Fastback. 390 4V GT motor complete with dual point distributor, 4-speed trans and 3.25 limited slip. Deluxe interior, Convenience group, tilt/tilt away steering wheel and loaded with lots of other options and original parts. Took me 4 years to do a complete ground-up restoration and a few years after restoration sold it to finish paying for college. I really miss this car. Kept factory stock and any rust was replaced with new body panels/parts.

Hubby absolutely love the older muscle car. Nova, Camaro, Chevelle & the likes.

If you are anywhere near Illinois, there is the Volo car museum ... They sell the cars that they have there, and they have numerous muscles cars

Nova, Chevelle, Camaro, Mustangs, 442, Corvette, etc, etc

I really loved that place!

Actually, you can buy some of them for very cheap. They are not all in a A1 condition, but most of them are in a really good shape. The flawless/original parts ones are sold around $75000-$80000, but the ones that still need some work done on them or that has a lot of replaced parts and lost value on it are around $15000-$25000. There is pretty much a car for every budget in there.

Really sweet car too :thumbs: Unfortunately that's the story for many people, selling the car to pay for college, even these days... :( Ever thought of finding it back? Do you still have the VIN ?
