BOGOTA INTERVIEW-CHANGE K-3 TO IR1/CR1 ???

Greetings !!!

My QUESTION is at the interview can I change/request for ir-1/cr-1 visa instead of k-3 ??

I have read other posts that it can be done, and is much better, because my wife would get EAD and green card within two weeks of entering USA. I read the AOS for K-3 is $1010.00 USD and does not happen quickly to get green card or EAD. Thats alot of money if I am able to save by changing

to the IR1/CR1.

Any Advice would be greatly appreciated....Our interview is 12/04/07 and approaching quickly.

People in the past had been able to have a CR1/IR1 interview in place of the K3 interview only when there I130 case was complete at NVC and forwarded on to the embassy prior to the K3 interview. This was when the 2 petitions were reviewed and approved separately and both forwarded to NVC when approved, most likely seeing the I130 approved a few months before the I129F.

Now, they link the petitions, and the I130 is never sent to NVC, but held for AOS upon arrival. Looking at your timeline, both NOA2s were from the same day. That means your I130 never went to NVC. So you will not be able to get a CR1/IR1 interview in place of the scheduled K3 interview.
