ohmy - sadly - the delay goes much past october for I130 receipts. There are many people waiting since August forward who have yet to hear anything.

The reason for this is because of the fee increase in July. So many people filed to beat the fees that it seems the service centers seem to be working on bringing current all other types of receipts and holding off on I130s and N400's for last.

If you take a look at www.uscis.gov - on the side there is a link to the receipting updates and you will notice that they are not yet working on I130 dates past 8/30 (for CSC) and 7/29 (for VSC) while most other petition types are much further along.

Hang tight - it is all you can really do at this time. I have a friend who filed 3 months ago and has yet to hear anything. She called VSC on Friday (which was 90 days from when she first filed) and was basically told that there is just a huge backlog at this time and they are working through it the best they can. Nice, huh?

The more interesting question by now is: why are they still not working on I-130s if everything else is almost up-to-date. That's what I am asking myself. How come they seem to have close to no work left other than the humongous pile of I130s and still there is no movement whatsoever. But there's nothing we can do about it other than wait.
