Well, here's the stage I've reached:

1. Entered US on K1 visa and got married in June 2007

2. Applied for work authorisation card and green card in July 2007

3. Got SSN in August 2007.

4. In October 2007 my EAD work authorisation card arrived - valid for 1 year.

5. At start of November 2007 my Green card arrived - valid for 2 years

Now, my questions:

1. Because I have a green card, does that mean that my work authorisation card is redundant? Surely the green card carries work authorisation along with it? Does the 2 year validity of the greenc ard cover my work for the next 2 years?

2. I had read on Visa journey that green cards can require interviews...silly question to ask I know, but I presumably wont have to do any sort of interview now? Is it common for the greenc ard to be issued without interview?

3. How long do I have to wait before I can apply to become an American Citizen? Do I need to prepare any forms for that? Do I need to collect any evidence for that?

4. On the form I filled in for the green card (I864 form) I had to tick a box that signified that I was eligible if there was a draft in the US. I am currently 26, do I have to file anything else in connection with this now that I have the green card?

Any help would be greatfully appreciated...

YES

2. I had read on Visa journey that green cards can require interviews...silly question to ask I know, but I presumably wont have to do any sort of interview now? Is it common for the greenc ard to be issued without interview?

Not uncommon - we didn't, nor do many - just depends on individual cases.

3. How long do I have to wait before I can apply to become an American Citizen? Do I need to prepare any forms for that? Do I need to collect any evidence for that?

Your next step (assuming you desire to do so) is to lift conditions (of the 2year green card) which you can do no-sooner than 90 days before your current GC expires. Citizenship will be years down the road.

4. On the form I filled in for the green card (I864 form) I had to tick a box that signified that I was eligible if there was a draft in the US. I am currently 26, do I have to file anything else in connection with this now that I have the green card?

I believe you were automatically entered with Selective Services - howeve, now that you're 26, nothing further is required.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated...
