Wow, that's awful. I guess everyone gets what's coming to them, I couldn't imagine using an individual on that level, especially if he really loves her.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Hey now. If we are going to put a price on it, I think I'm worth much more then that.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

She came here from Venezuela on a tourist visa and overstayed. She got married, and has been here for 6 years illegally. Now she's getting a green card. It makes no sense to me how she's getting any of this.

That's so embarrassing :(

Someone I vaguely know (an immigrant) turns around and asks me and a friend of mine 'hey do you want to marry my friend? He'll give you $10k, you only have to be married 18 mos, and you don't even have to live together.'

Man, he got an earful!

You were right to say no. It's a huge favour and worth at least $30k.

I can actually remember in 1997 receiving a call from a Hispanic-sounding woman (her pronunciation of the word for baby "nino" sounded like it was NATIVE-LANGUAGE) who claimed that she "wanted to have my baby".

She wasn't too understanding when I told her:

  • I could only have sex if I was married
  • I couldn't marry her due to several reasons including immigration mess (and I wasn't joking about that part)

In the end, I told her that there was something else she really needed, "call me back in about 3 hours" (which she didn't do anyway).

My next door neighbor approaches me one time regarding the same subject, $15,000 if i have a friend whose willing to go to India to marry her boyfriend, since she was illegal here herself, very sad story because in the end after being here for maybe 7 years or so, she moved back to India to be with her fiance, and they got married.

It was kinda weird, what woman on their right mind would travel all the way to India to marry someone for business.

So my wife got those comments a few times from folks who came down with H1 and still waiting to convert to Green Card. The only sad thing about it, she missed a job opportunity because she's here legally on a green card. Had your wife been in India, or with H1 she would have got the job, as this post is reserved for an H1. Illegal but they are doing it right under your nose.

Gone but not Forgotten!
