I filed my I-130 Petiton in May on the 19th of 2007. It's coming up on 6 months this Monday. is this a normal wait for this long on my approval for a Petition? Others advise would be helpful, thank you.

Looks overdue to me. Most K1 May filers were approved a month ago. Don't know if they process CR/IR differently tho.

I'd give my senator or congressman a jiggle.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

We filed our I130 petiton at the CSC on May 25th and received our NOA2 on October 10th. It looks right now it takes right around 6-7 months for approval of the I130 petitions. Keep your head up high....it should be any day now. I have read that the people that filed in July and later ..that it can take up to 9 months now for approvals because they are back logged with all the petitions.

Its a long journey....Call your congressman....maybe he can see where your file is..you will hear something soon...

Our I130 approval took 5 1/2 months. We filed May 22 and received an approval on Oct. 31. Sadly though - wait times defintely seem to be increasing. When I filed in may - approvals were averaging around 3 months - and then the rush of filing began to beat the fee increase, which just clogged up an already inconsistant system. Hang tight and you should really hear something any day now!!

I am sorry to hear that it's been 6 months. While many of us got approval within 3 months, your case is not unsual either. I hope, you get the approval soon. You may want to contact your local Congressman to see, if Congressman's office can find out more information about your petition.

Not really all that unusual. As of late, plenty of petitions (I130 and K3) are going the full 6 months (per the USCIS processing times). There are some that even go over that. You can try calling them yourself when you get over the 6 months mark from NOA1 date.

Lets not even get into the K1 vs. spousal visa debate. Plenty of threads around VJ griping about why finace(e)s get approved a month or two quicker than spouses. For April/May 2007 filers, the spread got even longer than the average, but the spread has diminished a bit lately.
