I'm confused about something. For the K-3 affadavit of support are three years of tax returns needed?

I seem to recall reading that somewhere but on the guides section it says that the employer letter, bank letter and evidence of assets are needed. The actual I134 form doesn't call for tax returns either. Just wanting to clarify this. Thanks.

Greetings!

During my k3 interview i had all past 3 years of tax copies , bank statements. latest 3 months py stubs,but then they only ask the most recent one tax copy...well i guess on the safer side might as well bring past 3 years and the rest of the documents mentioned as some consulates differ and they want you to be as complete as possible to skip delays.

p.s. also i noticed that maybe bec. the recent tax copy was more than enough for the poverty level that they required thats why they didnt mind asking for the other documents...but please just bring those to be on the safe side...

I think it depends on your embassy/consulate. i brought tax returns for 3 years and they only wanted the bank letter out of all my stuff I brought. But i have heard from other who had to hand over 3 years tax returns. Contact your embassy/consulate to find out more. They call tell you for certain

I dont know about your Embassy BUT at London they only require 3 years tax returns if the USC is self employed!

We needed all three years tax returns. The interview actually asked for them, and it was one of the few things he DID ask for.

The I-134 requires tax returns only if the sponsor is self-employed.

But, you seem to share the common misperception that the I-134 is the only financial requirement for a K visa. It is not. I-134 and it's attachments is but one item of several that may be required to show that a K-visa applicant meets the public charge provisions of the law. Tax returns is another commonly required document, independent of I-134.

I just reread the "guides" tips for aff of support.

It says to follow the I864 requirements. Thanks for the clarification. It was confusing to me because read the guides, then the actual form and I had a friend, who's been through the process, telling me that they didn't need tax records at all. All the conflicting info is a little confusing.
