hi,

i pulled this off another thread:

qout: "It would appear that Manila is requiring the CENOMAR for all these types of visas now."

I don't understand this. If you're married and petitioning your spouse for either or CR/IR visa and you got married in the Philippines, how can you get a Certificate of No Marriage(CENOMAR) from the NSO? This doesn't make sense.

I think they want CEMAR not CENOMAR...

CEMAR is Certificate of Marriage which is a vice versa from CENOMAR..

CEMAR is almost like CENOMAR it just states you have 1 existing marriage which is the current one.

You can get one from NSO. If you are married, it will show the name of the person you are married to, the date and place of marriage. Its like another record of your marriage aside from your marriage certificate.

Hi!!

I hope this CEMAR thing is clear to you now, I was confused too before on how can I get the CENOMAR when I am already married, but the replies u got are correct, what the NSO will give u is a CEMAR (CErtificate of MARriage) since you are married, but the form u'll gonna fill up is the same form for the CENOMAR (green form). Let me just share to you my experience when i went to NSO to inquire about that thing.

I came to NSO (San Fernando Pampanga since am from Angeles City) at 11:30am and I asked the guard (holding/giving out the forms to applicant) on how to get the CEMAR CRS Form #5, I expalined to him that it is a certificate that will state how many marriage/s I had.. the guard said i must be asking for a CENOMAR and i said no, what i need is a CEMAR CRS #5 but the guard keep on insisting that they don't have such thing like that and i almost back out and go home! But then i thought of going inside and ask the two people at the information desk if they know what form I must fill up if I need to get a CEMAR, these two people thought what I need is the regular authenticated marrriage certificate, they told me to fill up the pink form but I said no, I already have the authenticated marriage cert. and what I need is the CEMAR CRS #5, I even told them that the CENOMAR is CRS #4 but what I need is the CRS #5, and I can't have that since I am already married, they said they don't know what am talking about, they only know about the CENOMAR and not the CEMAR thing! (Imagine these NSO employee doesn't even know what this CEMAR is! I felt really hopeless that time!) but I insist to them that there must be such thing like that since the EMBASSY will be asking that from me! I think they sensed that am really serious about what am asking so they told me to wait till 1pm and talk to the person(a guy) inside the office (they call him SIR). Thank God I have the patient to wait that day! I waited till 1pm and finally had the moment to talked to SIR, I explained to him that what I need is a certificate that will state how many marriage/s I had and it's called CEMAR CRS #4 and he understood what I want! he said, "ok what u need is to fill up the same form for the CENOMAR but what u'll get is a CEMAR, it's a green form and we only give out 45 forms a day, come here while God is still sleeping if u can! :D because 45 forms are given out before 4 or 5 am.." HUH!! I tought then that I must be really so early so am thinking of goin back on thursday, travel at 2am so ill be there before 3am! Hope there will still be a form left for me.

Hope this post will help people understand on how to get that CEMAR CRS Form #5. Goodluck to all of us.

Now that is too early.. I have been to that place.. I have gotten my birth certificates, wife, daughter birth certificates and our marriage contract.. I came about 6AM and my line is by the canteen door.. And alot of does people who are ahead of me are getting either birth certificates or marriage contracts. I think CENOMAR's or CEMARS are rare cases.

Well to be sure.. I will suggest you to just get it @ Manila's NSO crowded but fast service..

I just told my wife to get her NBI clearance yesterday @ Clarke Field... And guess what.. They told her to come back December 4 for the releasing.. If I knew that I should have told her to get it in Manila where its faster service.

My DS230 just generated and I am so excited to submit the forms using JS V2.0, now I have to wait till December 4, till she gets her NBI clearance and send it to me. :(

Hi JamesRachel,

I am not really sure about the requirements for the K-3 but i suggest u read the other topics discussed here about the CENOMAR and CEMAR thing and am sure u will be enlightened, but since K-3 and CR-IR is the same spouse visa application, then, I think it's safe to secure one to be ready for the interview day.

Hi Ness and Keith,

This is only to my own understanding but as I look at my CENOMAR here (cuz i got one also last Oct. 2006 and I got married Feb. 2007) it is stated that "This certification is based on records of 1945-2006 marriages enrolled in the database as of August 31,2006." so I think since our CENOMAR is outdated already and WE ARE NOW MARRIED then what the Embassy will be asking from us is the CEMAR.. though I can't see any expiration date on this certification, for me it is clear when they wrote AS OF AUGUST 31, 2006.

Plus I remember the post of RandyandRina that we will not be needing the CENOMAR but the CEMAR since we are now married. Quite confusing on how to get that so make sure u read my post above so u know what to ask when u get to the NSO.

In short, get a CEMAR  cuz that's what we need and that's what i'll get also in next 2 days! Smile

Let me just clarify few things here.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE PLACED IN AP OR ANY DELAY, avail your CENOMAR.

The document is required with K visas and MAY also be asked from IR1/ CR1 applicants.

When you go to NSO, it is better to ask for CENOMAR since they will "ASSUME" you have no record of marriage. A CENOMAR becomes a CEMAR only when they show and released your document that shows a recorded marriage under your name. Thus, the document is now an authenticated CEMAR CRS# 5.

The one that you have now is a CENOMAR. You need to get another one since as per NSO standards, the document is only good for one year. Furthermore, that is no longer valid since you have gotten married since then. Ask for CENOMAR when you go to NSO, they will give you a CEMAR CRS#5 instead since your marriage with Keith will appear on the form.

hi,

i pulled this off another thread:

qout: "It would appear that Manila is requiring the CENOMAR for all these types of visas now."

I don't understand this. If you're married and petitioning your spouse for either or CR/IR visa and you got married in the Philippines, how can you get a Certificate of No Marriage(CENOMAR) from the NSO? This doesn't make sense.

We waited a very long time for our CEMAR to be posted to the National Registry. finally we spend 50 dollars and bribed the clerk. Bingo had it the same day.
