We just recieved our NOA2 notification today....so Im here for help and the next step. How can I contact NVC to find out when they recieve our file? How long does it take from Vermont on average and how can I get my new case number? Has anyone attempted to contact their embassy in advance with the new case number to request an interview and packet three with provisional file made???

Thanks.

I just called NVC 603-334 0700 today because we got our NAO2 11/29 and they told me to not call back for about 2 weeks. They said it is taking 2-4 weeks to get the cases but that is from California and then another 2-4 weeks to the embassy. I'll probably call the end of this week though! It looks like reading this thread getting to NVC from VSC is quicker. I am trying to figure out what I need to do now. I was thinking I had to fill out the I134 and have it notarized, get my banking deposits and date of account opening, a letter from my employer and give it to my fiancee to hold when I see him next month. I tried to get help from USCIS and the girl told me to wait on the visa. I nicely said to her just wait? No other steps to take? She said just wait but I am thinking that I have to do the above. Any help I would very much appreciate it!!

Yes you don´t need to wait only you can get all your other stuff ready :) Makes one wonder if they really just read something from a paper and that´s all the help they are willing to give...

So the above papers are what I need to get ready? Do I have to send them somewhere or give them to him to bring to the interview? I am so lost!

The above plus more :) You will find in the guide here what you need :) You give (or send) it to your fiance cuz she will need it to bring it to the interview :)

Scott and Marta,

Is this what I need to do: What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2): 1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a US Notary Public), with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

***Also, is there anything else I should be preparing with him. I am flying to EG in a few weeks and want to make sure that he is prepared with everything he needs. I appreciate you helping out with this it's like they just leave you to fend for yourself and figure it out. Thank God for this website! ***

Yeah that´s what the guide says. That´s what I am preparing too. I can´t think of anything else right now. It´s true that they don´t tell you much info. Got the letter from the Embassy and it just says I need to get a medical and fill out the 3 or what forms they sent me. So on VJ you find much more info. Btw did it mention police certificates?

He needs police certificates from each country he lived in for a longer period of time (i think it´s more than 1 year but not sure I think some people say more than 6 months)

Well I must confess it´s getting to me today lol. I am getting nervous. Yesterday I was ok cuz had lotsa stuff to arrange and do the medical so didn´t think about it but now getting the stuff ready it feels weird. All the time it was like...oh I wanna know when the intervieiw is so I can arrange everything else. And now when I know it (and on such a short notice) it´s quite crazy lol. I don´t wanna forget anything

PM me your email address...I can give you the most recent packet three letter and doctors listing. I have my I134 ready to go to Amr this week. Along with a small packet of samples of proof of on going relationship. There are three doctors listed in the paperwork...your SO can have the medical done while they wait for packet 3. And collect the needed documets and information. Cairo is a whole different beast than these other embassies. If I were you, I'd get your new case number as soon as you can, email Cairo with that case number to request a provisional file be opened. Request they send packet three (include your SO's address) and ask them to schedule your interview. Sometimes ( not always) they will comply and do this for you. Read up in the MENA forum under africa and middle east. There is alot of Administrative processing wait times AFTER the interview as well as possible home visits, fingerprinting and needs for movement certificates. Read.. Read..Read. Cairo approves easily, but the wait time after is herendous. Some wait from 2 weeks to over 1 year for that visa to be stamped. do ALL you can to be prepared and present a great case at the interview. PM me here if you need more help or want that packet 3 information.

Good luck..maybe we'll see you in Cairo Embassy, who knows....

Thanks for the info...how long did everyone wait (ohhhhhhhhhh I HATE THAT WORD NOW), till you started to call NVC to see if it had arrived??? Should I start to call Friday? Or wait till MOnday?

But I just thought of something I was ACTUALLY approved YESTERDAY..but just got email early this morning. So today is business day 1? So thrusday would be the third business day?

LOL :P Welcome here Amrssnowangel :) We have been waiting for you :D As for how long you should wait before you call: things from VSC go so fast that you don´t even manage to turn around and there you go your petition is almost in Egypt. Our experience with CSC is: we waited a week, then we called NVC, they had nothing, then we waited another week, called NVC, they had nothing, so we called CSC to find out what was going on and they said they couldn´t tell if our petition has or hasn´t been sent out cuz they have no way to check (LOL)...so we waited and one (which was like after another week) we called again to NVC and there it was...it arrived there and left the same day....if you want you can try calling NVC every day...they won´t be rude to you or anything :) Good Luck (F)

Thank you Thank you Thank you....Im happy to be here...hoping it wont be long though...we have such a long wait on the other end as well... I called yesterday morning...there is a DOS number you can use and they give the same info and are easier to get through to and nicer....I'll call again today...

Thanks...

psssst... 'cheesemonger'... can I come in? :D

ok, now there are loads of things I suddenly have to do, like police checks and so on, but I think the most urgent is my address change... my fiancé rang USCIS to do that a couple of days back, but they said he had to fill out a form (first I heard of THAT), and anyway, now we're approved ( ) it may be too late for that... advices, anyones? :D

it's not the end of the world if it goes to my old address - my cousins live there still, so I'd get it - I'd just prefer it came to me :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.
