June and July filers - NVC to Interview

Called the DOS this morning.

Embassy finally acknowledged, on Jan 3rd, recept of the paperwork sent from the NVC even thou they had technically had it in their posession for 8 days.

Guess the filing clerks are a little slow.. At least they didn't lose it.

No interview date yet. I'll try again next week, or I'll keep watching the Manila interview site.

It's amazing to think that our little group is graduating from the school of K-1 soon!!! I just can't believe we are almost there - it seems amazing and I get excited for all my friends with info and interviews.... Can you believe we will be done with this part soon!?

Does packet 3 go straight to the beneficiary or to the lawyer?

Ours was sent first to the beneficiary, and then a few days later our lawyer also received a copy.

Thst's what I tought. Makes more sense to go to the beneficiary first as he/she is in the same country.

Yes, but what makes the most sense is often not what this process adheres to!

But I hadn't thought of it in terms of the fact that the mail is simply most likely faster to the person in the same country as the embassy. Who knows, maybe they send them out at the same time, but the beneficiary is just more likely to receive it first.

managed to hold back from calling embassy today...going to call tues/wed to chase up interview, that will be 7 working days since packet 3 was overnight mailed. That should hopefully be long enough to pick it up and enter into system.

I'm feeling the same way....June 16th seems a long time ago (when I dropped our application in the mail). Ruth is planning to go for her interview around Feb. 7 or so, and hopefully will be in the States first week of march...

I called DOS today and was told NVC shipped package on Jan 2. But when I checked website on DHL, the only package that left for london after NVC received my package (on Dec 28) was Dec. 31. However, NVC sent me a letter dated Jan 2 stating they recently received my petition and it will be sent out in a week. Wondering if the lady confused the letter with the application.... Or dare I hope it was in the parcel sent on Dec 31...

OK. here let me explain.

When I called the DOS I was told my package was sent to the Embassy on Dec 19th.

When I did a search on DHL there were no records going to my Embassy with a reference of EXP 19 DEC 2007A so I did some checking.

When I looked at EXP 18 DEC 2007A I saw these packages left the NVC on Dec 19th.. Thus the reason that DOS said it was sent on the 19th.

I just looked at DHL for EXP 31 DEC 2007A.

According to the tracking information Ref # EXP 18 DEC 2007A for the London Embassy was shipped on Jan 2, and arrived on Jan 4.

Thus the reason that they said it was shipped on Jan 2.

I believe that this is your package.

Debz - you'll be fine!!!! I'll prolly be just as stressed though - I don't mind the form-filling and things like that but when it gets down to p2p I freak because I feel like I am getting judged (which I am I guess ) - it's why I am worrying about immigration - on paper everything is fine but if the IO decides they don't like the look of me then...

*hugs* You'll do great! I read somewhere someone forgot their OH's birthday and they still got the visa!! Make sure you let us know how it goes though - so exciting!! I'll be thinking of you!
