Hi Sara. Nothing yet. I'm calling the DOS every day but it wasn't scheduled as of yesterday. I've been unable to get through to them today though, I think they may be closed. I'll update this thread, and my timeline, as soon as I find out my date.

We just received an email that our Petition has Left the NVC office and is on its way to Brazil...

I called the NVC today and learned our petition had been sent to the embassy, also on December 14. DHL says it's in Belgium today, on its way to Moscow. Very exciting! Now I 'just' want to know our interview date!

To track through DHL do you get the tracking number for NVC? I didnt think to ? about that?! Thanks.

Try EXP 17 DEC 2007A (or change 17 to 18), and enter that number in "track by reference" on the DHL site.

will B.S. you never can find the DHL tracking number, you know why? because nvc or consulat .. act they wont give you tracking number, because they always send dhl with few others cases to the embassy or consulat!

oh ok, I was just asking as I had seen a few threads where folks said they were tracking on DHL. I thought it unlikely as I have never heard of this before and its way to close to being good customer service to give us access to where our petitions are.

they dont give any tracking information out, but a couple of people have seemingly 'cracked the code' that nvc uses as their references when sending the packets to the embassies...the system was accurate in mine and many other cases, so i think its fairly reliable

if you go to the dhl website, you can go to the tracking section and choose to 'track by reference' and then you can enter a reference in this form: EXP 28 NOV 2007A

you then want to choose dates about a day or two before and after the day that the nvc said your package was sent to the embassy...if nvc told you that your packet was forwarded yesterday, you would put 'EXP 19 DEC 2007A' and choose the dates 12/18 to 12/20...it should show a package being shipped to the city of your embassy, the weights of each package vary depending on how many packets were in each

mine was alone, but im sure that packages going to the phillipines or china are much heavier
