So, does it actually tell you on the USCIS website (When you log in to view your case status) when they have forwarded your file to the NVC?

And Chris will have to call the NVC in 2 weeks time to get a new case number? Is that right? Can we view the status online for that as well?

The USCIS site will not post anything to let you know that your case have been forwarded to the NVC. You will need to call either USCIS (to see if it's sent) or NVC (to see if they've received). Recently, it's been taking anywhere from 3-5 weeks for NOA2 to get to NVC.

Random question -

Not sure if it has already been asked, but is it ok to get the medical (for K-1) before the consulate sends the packet 3? I want to speed up the processing time as much as I can, but I read on Sydney's Consulate website that only the original medical forms may be filled out - that the doctor will not accept faxes or copies. Maybe it's different for different countries?

Also, is it ok to have the police check done before packet 3 is sent out?

Thanks!
