June and July filers - NVC to Interview

Hey everyone, I just called NVC today...assuming my file was still there...however I was surprised to learn that my file was sent to Cairo on 12-14!!!!! Wow- that's fast!!

I called the NVC today and learned our petition had been sent to the embassy, also on December 14. DHL says it's in Belgium today, on its way to Moscow. Very exciting! Now I 'just' want to know our interview date!

What are you talking about Debz? This is FUN. Waiting and waiting and not being able to make plans and waiting and wondering and having lots of people involved in our relationship. Dude, it's so much fun.

I'm with you......I am soooooo over this process. I can't even get excited about small victories at this point (having a bad day). I just want to know the interview date so we can start planning the rest of our lives. somewhere in the back of my head I am aware we still have to go thru AOS, but at least we will be on the same continent!

I understand all the frustration being voiced but I try an remain positive, and I revel in the small 'victory over the system' celebrations Natasha and I share. Long distance relationships in general, and the visa process specifically, are clearly not for the faint of heart. It's an arduous, draining experience, that's for certain. I just think of the day that WILL come when we are at last together here in my city and when all of this will just be a memory. Somewhere I read once that the most complained about family activity is camping trips (right after they occur) but the shared hardships are almost universally remembered fondly, years later. I think the visa process will be like that - it may seem like it is raining all day every day now and there is nothing to do, but one day Natasha and I will tell our grandchildren about how easy it is for them and how difficult it was for us to be together. And I know there will be a little smile on our lips when we do.

Once you send back Packet 3, the London consulate will send Packet 4, which is just a letter detailing the date and time of your interview appointment. There is no negotiating convenient times etc. You just show up when they tell you. (If its really bad for you you can ask to switch it, but is a pian in the #######) We are dying for the interview! London sent P3 to my fiance Dec. 11th and it still hasn't reached him. I think they went literal on us and used an actual snail to deliver the mail.

To track through DHL do you get the tracking number for NVC? I didnt think to ? about that?! Thanks.

Try EXP 17 DEC 2007A (or change 17 to 18), and enter that number in "track by reference" on the DHL site.

Try EXP 17 DEC 2007A (or change 17 to 18), and enter that number in "track by reference" on the DHL site.

And to be more specific, NVC does not give you your specific tracking number. When you track through DHL you are guessing that it's yours. But when I looked at mine there was only one to Montreal, so I figured it pretty much had to be mine.

I agree with the AOS stuff. Of course not looking forward to dealing with USCIS again but at least I'll be there and we'll be married and working towards our future together.

One thing for sure...this is definatly a test of any relationship that most never have to go through. I think we will all have much stronger relationships for going through this.
