Does anyone know WHAT AP is BEFORE sending the K1 from NVC to the embassy? Why am I in it for over a week now? Another with similar issues (age gap/divorce/ Cairo) was sent out within ONE DAY. While mine is still sitting at NVC...After such a long wait in Vermont...Im so discouraged.....Any ideas what may be going on?

Weedebz did, but she's from Scotland, not Cairo, so I have no idea if that would help you at all. You could try PMing her to see if she can give you any info. All I know is hers went really fast.

If they say that then I assume they're doing some kind of background check. It shouldn't be too long.

The other one is what was discussed elsewhere earlier...why do the only accept it from 1 dr in the whole of the UK. And why do edinburgh not deal with visas.

If there is a Consulate in Edinburgh then it makes no sense that you have to go through London, does it? Well take it the possitive way :D You will have an adventure :D:dance::dance::dance: They made me go to Prague 3x (once for medical and 2x to the Embassy) :P But I enjoyed it :D Especially cuz it´s Xmas time so it´s even more special and especially cuz it lead us to an approval :D

I tend to think the background check for you guys is just a bit more in depth. Perhaps Amr's name is just too similar to someone on a watchlist or something. I know it seems unfair, and I know you've endured so much stress, but it is most likely because of your unique situation. I think every situation is unique. Unfortunately Egypt is one of those countries that the U.S. will scrutinize a bit more. And it's really no secret why. I personally believe that the government is just doing deeper checks on Amr. I'm sure that deep down inside you kinda expected this...no? I would. I know I wouldn't like it one bit. I'm sorry you have to go through this. You've been pretty strong so far, so keep your chin up. You'll make it. Sorry for my honesty, I just think being real is better than nervously cheery. hang in there Faith.

Well, we have admisitrative processing AFTER the interview....I was under the impression this wasnt that. Amrs first name is common, but his last certainly is NOT common. Yeah...I know with Egypt there are alot of VALID reasons...but still...NVC told me that these are expedited since they are technically not immigrant visas but temporary visas...and that its just putting information into the system....yeah..right. I dont understand this system...I dont mind being cheery...and realize this is reality...but they are really crushing us here. I know the "rules" with the name issues...but that is done after the interview....even according to NVC....so what IS the hold up?

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Yep...I got pulled up in AP at NVC. Wasn't expecting that. Neither was I expecting to call back 2 hrs later to ask why and got laughed at for having what the guy told me was the fastest AP case he'd ever seen. It went in to AP on friday afternoon and was out by Monday morning. It's basic security clearances. Shouldn't take too long but the wee woman did tell me when I first called that sometimes it can take 1-2 weeks but if there is a glitch anywhere it can take a couple of months or longer. So as long as the 2 of you haven't done anything naughty you'll be fine.
