Lol I know!! I've kinda explained it in brief to most people I spend time with but they tend to get that glassy eyed look...

yep...I know the " oh god here she goes again with Nick and her visa" I think the only reason why some of my colleagues get excited as they just want to get out of their hair so I stop annoying them.

LMAO Oh I am sure they are happy for you really Debz!! Kinda like a different world - I mean I kinda want to be excited for Jeremy when he gets excited about the price dropping on quad-core processors (exactly). I mean I kinda understand but not enough to really have any emotional response to it!

yeah when i was about to get the visa everyone was excited too but the little steps in the long wait seemed so weird to some people lol

at least when nick was here we could jump around like loonies or cry together.

I have 1 person at work who only says one thing when I talk about it.... "well at least you'll see him sometime". She was also the one who was beside me when I got approved...she said "so you got your visa then" I explained not yet and her response was "why are you excited then"

Of course she met her husband and got married within 4 months and have never been apart for more than 1 week in 15 years. So she would totally understand.

lol, oh I totally know what you guys are talking about. It's just so much easier to share the excitement here, where people really get it.

But on my most recent trip to Canada, right after we got our NOA2, Scott told a few of his friends. We can tell people are happy b/c they can see we are happy, but they don't really have any understanding, and I can see it in their faces.

It just proves the whole damn thing is too complicated!!

I just call it 'our first approval', and then if anyone asks, say 'we need a second approval, which we should get at my interview in a couple of months'

Yeah, I kind of do that too. I tell people that first I have to ask for it, and they said yes, but now Scott has to ask for it, and we're waiting on that. Seems to work for most people.

Sure does make it sound stupid though!

Haha - yeah you are right!! It is kinda simplified but I always feel that all the parts of it are important so... People seem really surprised we have to have a full medical though

yeah I've had a few looks of bewilderment at that too.

The other one is what was discussed elsewhere earlier...why do the only accept it from 1 dr in the whole of the UK. And why do edinburgh not deal with visas.

That does seem totally stupid... Why can't you go to the US Embassy up there?! And why can't the medical be anywhere as long as it is carried out under strict regs or something?
