WASHINGTON Federal officials say the first case of bird flu could show up in the U-S in the coming months or even weeks as birds migrate from overseas.

And the government is now finalizing a plan that lays out how agencies should respond if it were transmitted to humans.

It recognizes that people may need to avoid human contact and stay home from work, school and other large gathering places.

The Steven King book? That was a great one!

Actually reading it now. The Super-Flu spread FAST..

Anyone read 'The Stand'?

The Steven King book? That was a great one!

Actually reading it now. The Super-Flu spread FAST..

I remember they made a pretty decent TV miniseries from "The Stand". It had Gary Sinise. Check it out after you read the book.

The Stand (book) was awesome. The movie was so-so.

Hmph. Well I liked the movie. :P

Of course I think I was about 12 years old at the time!

haha. I watched it for the first time last year on TV :P I read the book when I was 23 or 24. I'm late for everything.

I saw the miniseries when it came out. I just finished the 7 book 'Dark Tower' series and wanted to read something else by king so I picked up the stand. He tells a great story.

The Stand miniseries had "Don't Fear the Reaper" as the intro song and all I gotta say is:

I NEED MORE COWBELL!

that was funny as hell..that skit
