What to do if you didn't copy I 129F?

Hi,

I'm noticing as I'm reading through the posts people have to collect everything they already sent during the process and take them with you to the interview. I have a few copies of some things but not of others like the I-129F for example. I have a copy of the form but not our answers. What can we do when the interview comes up and we don't have copies of the things we've sent to them leading upto the interview?

The consulate already has your package, your copies are mainly insurance for you in case something goes awry and gets lost in the mail or you want to refile, etc. The consulate (as far as I know) wouldn't ever ask you for another copy of what they've already received.

Edit: I think the main thing to have copies of is the proof of relationship. Not even copies, originals, because that is what they might ask to see at your interview.

No, one does not have to take a copy of their I-129f submission with them to the visa interview.

What one should take are the 'originals' of key documents of which photocopies were submitted - things like birth certificates, diivorce certificats, etc. The consular officer may wish to verify any photocopied documents that were submitted with either the petition or the visa application.

I have not heard of any one being asked for copies of any of these documents at the interviews whether in the embassy or at AOS. They do suggest make copies (as I did for my fiancee also) but she wasn't asked for these and I do not expect to be asked at the AOS interview either. My suggestion will be to make another one and keep it with you in case its needed - you can have another original - it doesn't hurt. The things most often asked for and looked at are pictures, letters, proof of living together (At AOS) etc. Good Luck and don't worry too much

You dont need a copy of the I-129F, when you go for your interview, they will already have your original I-129F..............you only need to take the documents they tell you to bring!!

Can I summarize then, that we only submit copies of, for example, our birth certificate, divorce decree etc but we must submit original application forms i.e I-129F etc?

To file the I-129F you MUST send a I-129F with original signature,G-blah (forgot numbers? ) bio form, also has to be original signatured form x4.......all other documents sent with original petition should be copies!!..as originals will be asked for at interview!!
