Yes, we are! :P Took a little while, but we are happy to report that Ewen sailed through immigration and customs problem-free, and we've been celebrating ever since! :D

More details to follow when we come back from dinner!

Latest news: Green card received 16 April 2007. USCIS-free until 3 January 2009! Eligible to naturalize 3 April 2010.

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!

Here's a fuller version of yesterday's events...

Ewen's flight was a bit late in landing--about 20 minutes or so. He went through Immigration at Newark, and to my great relief, he said that the POE officers were very nice. The one he initially got wasn't quite sure what to do with his K-1, so he had to go to secondary, but everything got squared away in quick order with good humor.

I snuck through the little elastic barricade when a security guard had her head turned, before he actually got into the "meet and greet" area, to give him a big hug and kiss! :P Which was soooooo wonderful after all that time. He had worn his whole kilt outfit because it's difficult to pack, and he looked so good in it. He brought six bags, all told, so he had gotten one of the airport carts to take stuff to the car. We loaded up the car, returned the cart, got a Coke, and then headed for home (a good two hours from Newark).

The drive was actually all right; we had to take a detour in New Jersey, but the weather was very nice, and we talked some and held hands and just enjoyed it. We got home, unloaded the car, started doing some unpacking and reorganizing, and just enjoyed the whole being-together-with-no-time-limits thing! :)

We were both pretty tired and hungry, so we went out for Indian food, then came home and went to bed.

And I'm happy. And I think he is too. He'll undoubtedly have more to add later, but suffice it to say for now that his first day in the States went very well. :D
