Terror crackdown: Passengers forced to answer 53 questions BEFORE they travel

Travellers face price hikes and confusion after the Government unveiled plans to take up to 53 pieces of information from anyone entering or leaving Britain.

For every journey, security officials will want credit card details, holiday contact numbers, travel plans, email addresses, car numbers and even any previous missed flights.

If they want my credit card details and email addresses they can frickin' whistle! Especially after reading this....

The Home Office has come under fresh criticism after it emerged that illegal immigrants have been approved for work in the security industry.

Hundreds of thousands of people who were vetted by the Security Industry Authority are now having their applications rechecked as a result of the news.

The SIA had not checked that applicants seeking approval to work in the sector were entitled to work in the UK.

The Sunday Mirror reported that illegal immigrants have been working at the Metropolitan Police, in Whitehall, and at ports and airports. :o

They forgot shoe size and favourite lipstick colour...

But seriously, I don't mind providing answers to all these questions, I just don't have the feeling that it's not going to help to prevent a terror attack. I think organised terror groups are always a step ahead and they'll find their way around it.

Another step closer to the big brother state. I don't see how knowing the cost of my fare helps to reduce terrorism. Some of the questions are not relevant also. If you buy on-line then you do not use a travel agent or speak to any person when booking your travel. This seems like a general 'fishing for data' exercise the costs of which will outweigh the benefits.

17th March 2010 - Started the removal of conditions process

22nd March 2010 - Application received by CSC

30th April 2010 - Biometrics appointment

A lot of those things they already take down or have on hand as it was in the database when you booked your flight. We were probably just not aware of it until this was published. They ask us questions at the check in desk too, this all contributes to their wealth of knowledge about us all.

In theory, there is probably only a couple of extra things on there than normal.

Agree. Come on, it's the Daily Mail, for **'s sake. If I only read the date on that rag, I'd have to verify it.

I agree and a lot of the information is already on your passport and/or with your credit card details when you purchase the ticket. At least they're not asking for fingerprints and photos of us like they do in the US. Remember how much ####### that stirred up at first? People will still continue to go to Britain. I think it's a good idea to help crack down on people having to pay for illegal immigrants to get dole money. If it actually works will be another thing.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
