The important thing was to marry before the I-94 expired. It sounded like you did that so the visa is a done deal. Many people have filed AOS later on with no problems. You might want to think about why you need to wait because your wife is restricted in what she can do without the GC. Good luck

You need to tell us: What visa does your wife have? (K-1, tourist etc)
