Hello all,

Our K1 visa was recieved on Sept 27 in CDJ and when I call them they keep saying any day now it could be sent but they have up to 3 months to get the fiancee packet out to her in Mexico.

My question is can I go to the Consulate now and wait in line and ask for an appointment letter??? I have read some have done that and recieved the packet.

I only live 5 hours drive from Ciudad Juarez and even if they dont give it to me it will be a recon trip to spy out the land so to speak. We desperately want to have my fiancee here by Christmas!!!!

Advice please!

Thought I read on these boards that no appt is necessary in CDJ....just walk in and they will do it at that time.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

Hi, Hodad1. I´m really sorry about the delay. We´re waiting for the packet since November 06 (CDJ received the packet from NVC) and your post make me feel sad, maybe our packet will be delayed too. I´m too pesimist right? But, anyway I hope soon our cases are in our hands. Good luck. At CDJ consulate said me than the fiance would be to the interview if the petitionary or beneficiary had the packet. It isn´t necessary wait for a couple packets. But anyway you need call to CDJ and ask about this delay, when I called they said me if I´ll not received the packet within 1 month (until Dec 06), I have to call them for info. I hope this help you. Good luck one more time.

For K1 visas going through Ciudad Juarez, no appointment in necessary. (For K3 visas you do need to wait for an appointment) I also remember reading about people who have gone (for K1 visas) to Juarez without an appointment, but I don't remember if anyone has gone recently without their appointment letter. You might want to go thru the JUarez thread (I know, it's kind of long) to check up if anyone recently has gone to Juarez without their letter. When I was going thru the K1 process I also remember reading about people going thru Juarez without waiting for their letters to arrive, but I don't remember if anyone from our Juarez thread actually did this (it's been a long time).

Also, you need to make sure that your approved I-129F petition has already left the NVC. When your petition is approved it gets sent to the NVC first. Then the NVC sends it out to Juarez. Then the Juarez folks send you your packet of info. to the U.S. and than also to your partner in Mexico. Have you confirmed that Juarez has in fact received your paperwork?

Yes,

I called the consulate a few weeks after I got the NVC letter saying it had been approved and forwarded to Juarez and the Juarez consulate said they have it and are inputting it into the system and then will send out the packet. Funny thing I've called every week since and talked to 4 different people and 2 said the packet would only be sent to Mexico and 2 others said it would go to both Mexico and my US address. I really hope it comes to me as they said it could take a month for it to arrive to her via Mexican mail!!

Thanks for the responses!

Don't worry the packet gets sent to BOTH the US and Mexico address. I remember I received mine way before my husband received his in Jalisco. So hopefully you receive your packet soon.
