I guess an hour and a half wasn't enough time to make it through Customs as I am presently sitting at the Toronto Airport, on my laptop, after missing my flight. I would suggest anyone coming through Toronto to attempt to get there at least 2 hrs ahead of time. No issues or problems with my K-1 however it was everyone else ahead of me and with only two secondary screening officers working. 7-8 people also missed flights......re-booked for tomorrow morning.

ouch, overnight in TO!! Enough time to get ur first heart on VJ,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Totally, there is nothing you can do so you might as well not get all worked up. Stuff happens.

Enjoy your coffee! I like watching the people there. I sit quietly, listening to my ipod and watch them bustle back and forth, I try guessing where they are going or where they are coming from. I'm a total people watcher..lol but not in a bad way.

Yes, a guy with ADD was annoying the customs officer trying to get the paperwork completed for everyone else, they threatened to throw him out if he didn't stop going up asking crazy questions, then some other lady had lied to the customs about entering the US illegally, they were telling her to hold on as they were getting a photo of her attached to this apparent incident and then they would have a long talk. She ended up in tears sitting beside me stating that someone must have used her passport in the 80's etc etc. I seem to be some sort of crazy magnet....

My hubby and I totally do that too! Our last trip had many delays so I just sat there knitting my purse and watched people go by...way too much fun.
