Wow! An ex-friend tried last year and was told he had to do IR. Good to see Manila giving more options

Im just wondering what all is involved in the Direct Consular Filing? And if anyone has any further advice Id appreciate it.

RayandJay2007

I recently helped a friend who had lived in Mindanao for 12 years do the DCF. Took about 4 months.

The problem was proving domicle and back ITRs.

He had good reason not to file and attached a letter stating why.

Also established domicle with bank accounts, mailing address and erolled his kids in school. Kids are US Citizens.

CO didn't ask for anything other than normal Certicates.

Told my buddy USEM is encouraging USCs to move out of Mindanao.

He lived in Cotobato and his truck had been shot up plus had an attempted kidnaping of his kids.

Things are getting worse in some sections of Mindanao.

Hi How much does it cost you filing the CR-1? I am a filipina and married to american. He is temporarily living with me here philippines for 10 months already and applied a permanent residency and about to go next month in the Bureau of Immgration Manila to get his first stamp on his passport ( 1 year under probationary status of PR). He will file my K3 or Cr-1 or DCF before ned of this year.We havent decide yet which one is more better and wont take too long. He wants to stay here with me till i get my visa approved after filing. They say that filing DCF old term for 1-130 takes time unlike K3 and CR-1 (CR-1 married less than 2 yrs) .We are married for only 9 months. he is receiving from SSS bcoz he is diable. He was an ex usa navy for 9 yrs but dont have pension. So we want to be practical it cost lot of money goig back to US and returning here so we are asking advises on what to file withoout him having to return to his homeland til i get my visa and go together. he is still paying his bills online and paying his medical insurance and life insurance thru internet bcoz he is looking forward to come back and live with me in Alabama. We will live with his mom's house.

In any of which K3,Cr-1 or DCF, we will get a sponsor bcoz needs for 125% poverty line they are requiring. Does he needs to fill up an 1-864 form or only the sponsor in the US? What is the difference of 1-134 and 1-864?

How much does it cost to pay 1-184 and DS-230? Is the fee for filing K3 and CR-1 cost $355 or $455?

Thanks !!!!! Pls help guys!!!!

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

I would suggest to start by reading the sticky threads at the top of the DCF forum. Next reading the VJ guides will help.

Here is a thread showing the Manila Embassy (USEM) does DCF. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=171861

We filed DCF too and embassy got CR1 visa. Its easy to do so, they will ask ur hubby if the rent or lease or title of the house there in PI are in his name, also electric, cable, water, phone and internet bills to prove that he live in there. Less than a month after filing we were approved, but later on we had a problem of his domicile records because he didnt keep his house here in US so it took us 9 mos to get my visa from the filing date, because he needed to go back here to re establish his domicile and settle everything. My husband is a retired US Navy too.

Filing fee is 355 dollars.

The BIG problem I've seen is establishing domicile. Not easy if guys have "burned bridge" when they left the US.

Not having filed taxes doesn't seem to be much of a problem.

If the petioner can get a co sponsor all the better.

My friend used his assets. He'd inherited about a 800 K piece of land free and clear.

Plus he is a pastor and has a quaranteed job here.

Working for the "BIG GUY" helped.
