I don't have to file until June 28th, 2008 but I am already starting to think about removing the conditions and assembling proof and stuff so I am not running around at the last minute. Its all looking good.

My only concern is the Biometrics appointment. My husband and I are planning to go to Canada so for the last three weeks in July and judging by others timelines, it seems that would be around the time my biometircs appointment would be. If this does happen, is there a way to change my biometrics date?

Keep in mind you have a 90 day window within which to file. You might try scheduling your filing so that the biometrics would happen after your vacation.

I have similar worries. My wife is expecting a baby in January, but they might induce labor in late December, wihich is when I'm anticipating her biometrics to probably be scheduled for. I'm hoping they get it scheduled quickly so that she gets that done before the baby comes.

Supposedly you can request that the appointment be rescheduled, but you always run the risk that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing at USCIS and your case gets denied because you didn't keep the biometrics appointment.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh! I didn't notice that one little word that said "DURING" the 90 day window. I thought you had to file it DAY 1 of the 90 days... or is that what is recommended? I thought maybe bringing it with me to Canada and sending it from there so I know it wont be scheduled before I get back... is that possible?

you can file anytime in the 90 day window.... of course it is better to file it as soon as possible...... i filed mine about 1 month into the 90 days....

it says something on the BIO notice about changing the appointment date...

thanks marilyn, that would be around the time i would file... another stress to rest, thank god. Man those two years flew.

I haven't done the math here but just don't let your GC expire while you're in Canada and before you apply for removal of conditions

Sept 10, 2001... Arrived in US (J1)

Sept 2002... AOS (J1 to F1)

March 2003...AOS Approved

May 2003... Flew to SA. Reapplied for F1. RFE and Finally Approved. 2 year F1 visa in Passport.

Jan 21 2004... Married in Chicago

Aug 2004... Applied for AOS, Petition for spouse and EAD

Feb 2005... Joshua, our little cutie pie is born on SuperBowl Sunday

May 2005... EAD Approved

Dec 17 2005... AOS & Petition approved (2 year green-card received)

Aug 4 2007... Mailed in I-751 = $275 (remove conditions)

Aug 31 2007... Everything returned, filed too early, wrong fee

Sept 17 2007 Refiled to NSC

Sept 18 2007... Delivered by DHL to NSC

Oct 10 2007... Received at CSC

Oct 15 2007... Check cashed, transfered to CSC

This is a great question. We're supposed to file to lift our conditions around 12/4/07, and we will be on vacation from 12/22-12/31. Is it pretty safe to assume that we won't be scheduled for Biometrics until after the new year? And about how much notice do you get for you the Biometrics notice? 2 weeks? A month?

I don't want to delay filing our paperwork, but I also don't want to risk getting notification for the appointment while we'll be out of the country.
